Hi all.

Ive had my new car for a week now, just got around to taking a picture.

Its a 1993 honda Prelude 2.2 VTEC 4WS.

187bhp at 7000rpm, plenty fast enough for me :D

Four wheel steer is cool, I thought it would take some getting used to but it makes it easyer to park and the handling seems very positive and predictable.
Its supposed to be one of the best handling FWD cars you can buy. Its certainly much faster than my driving ability at the moment.
Was cheap to buy and insurance is good as well (£430 comp)

Its only done 39,000 miles and has full Honda history, so it should be reliable enough as long as I look after it.
Has full electrics and cruise as you would expect from this sort of car.

Very very pleased with it so far :D

Paid £2700 which is not so bad for a low milage mint car like this one.

Insurance was through elephant.co.uk very cheap considering im 24 with only 2 years NCB. But I have had a licence for 6+ years and no points (thank god)

Saxo VTR is pretty nice for a first car, I was driving a 1995 fiesta for the last 2 years.

nice prelude Holst, i assume its a manual? i love honda's there so easy to mod and u can get pretty much anything for them although jap parts do tend to be slightly more expensive

KITT, i wouldnt go for a saxo vtr, a rover 214 16v (bubble shape) is faster with a smaller engine and more horsepower and abit more interior space, also there cheaper on the insurence and handle great once dropped, with an induction kit, exhaust and 52mm throttle body your looking at 120bhp and a vts rival for relative peanuts compared to the price you'd pay for a decent vtr

That 'Lude has some extremely low mileage and looks fabulous considering its age. The original owner must have babied that thing.

Nice, i usually don't like that generation much, but then again, you rarely see them in good shape like that. So, i'll make an exception for that one. :)

Thread Res!

Nice car, exactly what I'm after, seeing as I can't find a decent Fiat Coupe Turbo, that hasn't been thrashed to an inch of it's life.

What is the 2.2 VTEC engine like? What sort of mileage can you expect out of them?

Regards.

The Honda engines need revs and sometimes it seems to take a long time to get there as well. My friend had an Integra R and that rev'd to 9100 but you had to be at 6 for it to start going. Nice car though.

H22?

im pretty sure this guy had an H22 in his (race car) honda civic...it made well over 500fwhp, with little traction while on the dyno.

went back to the place where the guy tunes cars. there was a 2000 prelude type SH with 20psi of boost. 211 fwhp.. hahah. with some tuning (and moving the air intake) he got it up to 282 fwhp. quite a difference.
