Given that nVidia specify certain 12v rail requirements, I would think it's a safe bet that the pcie connector for your card is run directly from the 12v rail?
If a friend of mine has an Antec TPII 480W with dual 18A 12v rails, and the 7800GT is said to require 26A on the 12v rail is it also safe to assume he can run his card from this psu, as his combined 12v rail rating is 36A?
Or, is this psu inadequate?
Or, can he perform some kind of mod to combine his rails?
Maybe a connector which combines both pcie connectors into 1?
He's a cheapass and doesn't want to blow any more cash :slapass:
