Before doing any more polishing, I tested the tube to make sure that it didn't fall apart when using it with some dryice. The LN2-can was empty so dryice was my only choise.

Sorry, missed to answer your post. Well... I don't want to try. It's to small I think. Our bigger machine can do it for sure. It's possible to do "by hand" also. I've done an oiltank (not copper offcourse) for a truck or something and it was just like a mousepot before the "top" was welded on to it.

Not sure all i could understand from his post was 400kr which is about 40euros

Hehe. You're right. It's about 40€ (40.88€ exactly).

You should cut these black lines with something, cold aceton will "flow" better over whole bottom :toast:
If you do that, I buy one and you gonna send me on of those pots (Finland/Helsinki) :fact:

Tar det på engelska så slipper vi översätta. :stick:

Oh ok, not that expensive, think I'll keep my old Ln2 container though. I was just curious. I only use it like once or twice a year anyway. Looks great but I think you can do some improvemets on the bottom. Good job!

Nå oki, fair nok :)

Hvor meget vejer rørene og hvilke dimensioner har de lige pt.?

I hope I understand what you asked... (Danska är inte min starka sida)

Weight:
About 1kg without insulation and stainless plates

Pipe-dimensions:
Inner diameter: 50mm
Outer diameter: 54mm
Length: ~310mm with base (not exakt because i get the pipes cut to 300mm and often they are cut in an angle so i have to fix that)

Base:
Thickness = 14mm

.sentinel
11-23-2005, 09:31 AM
The base thickness might be a little to much. I think the recommanded amount is around 6mm.

Minusgrader
11-23-2005, 11:03 AM
Sorry, the base is 14mm from bottom to top. The "circels" go down to 10.25mm.

6mm? No way?

Nice doing there.
I noticed you used a paste to make the base shine.
That's useless, better result is coming from using a very thin sandpaper and sweating ;)

When using paste you let a thin layer on the base, it's interfer in the thermal conductivity.

First of all nice tube design. :toast: Has any testing or runs been done with one of these tubes yet if so can you post some results in your thread? As for the paste. I have used buffing compound (paste like) on my mousepor for final shinning but clean it off with acetone after so have hed no issues with residue. ;)

The relation between height and thickness is important. Also it is important the thickness of the base and the contact surface.
