I,m looking for a Digital Thermometer

I have been looking at the UEI DT 150/200,

But if i read the specs i see this

""Supplied with 2 type K wire-bead thermocouples which measure -40 ° to 500 °F (-40 ° to 260 °C).""

-40c  (they are supposed to go lower right, can someone explain this to me).

Becaus I have also found a Velleman DMV 890 Mulitimeter with thermometer which goes from -50°C to 1000°C (with a K thermocouple).

Will this velleman be good enough (I,m going to use it for DI).

Don't worry about the probes, I've used ones rated for -40, -50, -75 and they've all read down to -100 without a problem.

Make sure the reader will do it though. No point buying one that only does -50, make sure it's -200 and you'll always be able to read the temps.

Voltcraft's k101/k102 are ok and cheap, UEI's DT150/200 are good, and loads more, but make sure whatever you get will read to -100 at least.

The probes will usually read what the unit will, just they may not be as accurate when your'e down below what they're rated for.

And make sure it's a K Thermocouple reader. That's the most common bead thermocouple around.

I was also looking for one but all I could find is -50C. I hope it will have no probs measuring dice temps.
