Wingznut from our forums was kind of enough to post a link to some pictures (http://g-prime.net/x360/ ) of an Xbox 360 running on a 24" Dell Widescreen LCD. The picture is just jaw-dropping gorgeous.

Seems like games will run really smooth and sharp in HDR. Previous consoles would look really blurry with poor AA and AF and would sometimes lag. It will take PCs a long time to match the X360 in gaming performance
I wonder if the backward compatibility will fix that texture lag on Halo 2 ;)
Also wonder if there will be a way to hack the system and overclock it.

I see that the guy who was running the X360 on the Dell 2405fpw was having trouble calibrating it. The 2405fpw has problems with image quality when you use the analog, s-video, and HDTV imputs.
Those who have the money, I would recommend buying the new (to be released) 30" SED TVs in the holidays or in Q1 of 2006.
SED TVs will run a lot better and will already look good without doing perfect calibration.

Looks somewhat like Gamespy on steroids...but yea, my $99 gamecube keeps me satisfied. Unless there's a way to start benching on the R500, I'll keep my $399 :)

Looks good. I wont be buying the 360 though, I dont like the games :/ I am more into RPG games like Final Fantasy and others. Only reason I bought XBOX was because they had Shemmue 2 exclusively and PS2 didnt have it. That game was an AWESOME RPG. Story didnt finish though, hopefully they will still have a Shemmue 3 if they chose to continue the project its been like 4years

We had a thing at our school called "hardware update" inwhich new techs are presented. So we had an exclusive for belgium, the Unreal 3 engine at my school with the game robots, a SLI 7800GTX running 3Dmark05 loops, a Crossfire (working :p: ) 850's

Plus we had a WORKING x1600 in our school also which was used to run the robots game on.

He gave us all a tour of the MB via webcam (a verry good one to be honest)

He detailedly explained all the parts, conpairing chipsets and cores vs his yonah he 'happend' to have lying around on his desktop :slobber:


The Xbox360 looks cool and wellput together with a LOT of traces running DIRECTLY and in a straight line to the GPU. After the GPU comes the GDDR3 RAM with again A LOT of traces and relativly complex connection to it.


Looks like Xbox is gonna be way cool :)

I saw a XBox 360 running a demo on a 60" Samsung 1080P DLP set the other day. I thought to myself 'My GAWD...this looks *sweet*!' Yes, I am also looking forward to PGR3 and a few others. The new Need for Speed looked pretty tasty too.

CrashOv3r1De: ms brought the rigths to get the ff series on the 360 so its happy days for me. I've been a really big xbox fan but was dissapointed by the lack of RPGs compared to the PS2. Now I've got ff comming to the new ms console I'm sold. I'll prolly wait till the prices drops when the PS3 is released. hehe

i had a bash on a 360 in a dixons store on an outing to meadowhall yesterday, forgot what game it was but first person shooter, not overly impressed with graphics tbh, had loadsa jaggies, not much FSAA used.

they have one in gamestation next to the blue bell in town too. i think the fps is kong that's what i played on and i agree not the best to showcase the machine. i want to play gotham 3 a good racer would tip the scales for me might ask to see it.

im sure its a powerfull machine, but its optomized for one prupose gaming. thier is nothing hogging the cpu/ram/gpu except the games it plays. so its total utiliztion. Im thinking billgates made some kind of mistaking with the 360 though, all these storys now on the news aobut how they over heat in 12 hours could cost MS millions. It seems like thiers too much heat? maybe the cpu is overclocked?

I heard somewhere that it uses Liquid Cooling. Too bad as shown in Anandtech's article they actually mean Heat Pipe Heat Sinks. Would have been nice though.

I skipped the xbox and ps2 (cant stands those jaggies...worst system image ever for me). The 360 does look tempting but only cause there are never boxing games for pc nor fighting :-(
