INTEL 820 2.8@3.0 :woot:
GEIL DDR2 2X512
X800GTO2
ASUS P5WD2
and here are the results(3dmark2005):
12 pipes 400/490: 4449
16 pipes 400/490: 4959
16 pipes 540/580: 6016

I think it's pretty good score

ok we are very close to make up my mind...
so I'll go for the ASUS P5WD2 and GTO2
one last thing, about the processor,
which is the best for this system?Intel 630 or 820? (the ones that I can afford...)

820 if your willing to clock it up , 630 needs more clockspeed as well but not quite as dependant on it. 820d's are great and cheap.

The boat has sailed on the GTO2. When it was 200-220, it was the best thing around for the price. Now I would have to agree that the GS is proabably the better choice.

Agreed...at its current price, you may as well get a 7800gt and sell the CoD2 that comes with a few of them.

Although, the C3D GTO at $155 was quite nice...that boat has also sailed however, as the rebate is gone.

In all the reviews i read, The gto2 passed the 6800GT in most of the checks, after ofening it's extra 4 pipes, so if it's better then GT so it's better then GS too...

my platorm is based on Intel cause they have more advanced hardware support, like DDR2 memories, that AMD will have only next year.
Intel never dissapointed me and I'm not looking for advantures (by buying an AMD), but, every human being have it's own thoughts. :confused:

btw, all the package cost only 1000$, that is very cheap around here. :banana:

for games i have my XBOX, the computer is for office-based uses and from time to time, to check some games that the XBOX don't have (e.g. COD2)

what i have now is sufficiant for office uses and games in a low res (P4 2.4, GF4600 TI), so the system i've built is gonna be about 300% fatster then the one now.

LOL only reason AMD hasn't gone to DDR2 is because timings have sucked so bad.

its interesting that DDR1@500 is faster than DDR2@667 intel went to DDR2 before it had matured. Also AMD has ondie memory controller thus when it does switch to DDR2 it will be faster than Intel.

ok, maybe next time U'll come to your place to buy a computer cause here, we do not have those parts and if they were, the price would be bigger then 1000 $, here the OPTERON 246 cost 300$ and the x1800xl cost 590$ and it's the cheapest.
