Too bad we won't be able to enjoy all that beauty because of being nervous for the benching madness :D

Georgous! Any ETA Andy?

Also, you've been alluding to 3D06 for some time now and its features....care to share what else you know or can you not?

You need to talk to macci about that :) I sometimes email or PM people at Futuremark with various questions but I very rarely know more than that is in the public domain. I knew water would be a big feature in 06 but that is about it !

Macci know I am pretty sure gets to play without before release and probably benches it in advance. His name is on the credits for 05 for instance ;)

tasty indeed...
but i'm actually hoping for a 3dmark2001 concept :)

7 short game tests :toast:

Sadly Futuremark do not like that format anymore ( at least in the format Hi Lo ) , however there will be more tests it seems.

From the article linked to above things of interest are

a) there are some tests where you will need an SM3.0 card to run
b) cards with only 128MB of ram will be penalised against those with 256MB

The latter to me is interesting, if you are interested in mid range cards you often go for something with 128MB but fast RAM rather than something with 256MB of slower RAM, in this case it might b better to go for the 256MB card and then "suffer" in 03 and 05.

Isn't there already a penalization for 128MB cards in GT1 of 05? :stick:

By penalization, I mean that it runs noticably slower than with 256MB.

Or will this be more drastic?

This will most likely be released after the R580/G80 go at it (~q4 2k6 like 05)...so expect some pwnage even on the current video cards. OR if they really move it into 2k7 (like they did with 03 and 01), you'll see cards with unified shaders running 3dmark07, and Futuremark knows that in advance.

Dont forget also, that ATI/NV will be adding GDDR4 to their cards, so think 2ghz+ stock Mem speeds, yet another thing FM will have knowledge of :p:
