Does anyone know of a power supply that is rated for a minimum of 45A and possibly 20% higher on the +5V? Why? Minimum requirements of 45A on the +5V rail for the ClawHammer.

I did some searches and the ONLY psu I can find is the TURBO COOL 600 and it is in three models:

Turbo-Cool 600 Tower

Turbo-Cool 600 ATX

Turbo-Cool 600
Sun Ultra AXmp

The +5V rail is rated at 1% regulation also... so it doesn't fluctuate very much.

The +5V rail is rated at 70A. The next level down is the TURBO 475 and the +5V rail only has a rating of 40A.

Well, unless the power supply manufacturers are going to comply, these power supplies are gonna be hella expensive. :(

The DualPowerâ„¢ 840 is another one

It does 40A on the +5V and can go up to 60A as needed... but is a redundant PSU which requires a whole new case!

Are you% sure on the requirements of the ClawHammer? There was a thread at OC.com where people were saying the Tbred would need 45a. It was finally proven wrong but loys of people there were worried for nothing. I believe the bad info on the Tbred was sourced from [H]OCP. I can dig up the thread.

Thanks for the correct information concerning the TBred. I am going to check some more on ClawHammer power requirements but, the great thing is that JBell found the TTGI TT500SS power supply that can pump more than enough amperage on the +5V rail. BTW, I have a TTGI 420W power supply and it is an excellent power supply.

True, but I got the itch for a better power supply without going to PC Power and Cooling power supplies and $200.00 less in the wallet. So, I got one of the first TTGI TT-520SS(520W) soon to be followed by the TTGI TT-550SS(550W) unit.

Beautiful specifications for the above power supplies.
TTGI TT-520SS(520W)
+3.3V @ 28A, +5.0V @ 52A, +12V @ 20A and +5Vsb @ 3A!
The +3.3V and +5.0V combined is 260watt.

TTGI TT-550SS(520W)
+3.3V @ 28A, +5.0V @ 55A, +12V @ 22A and +5Vsb @ 3A!
The +3.3V and +5.0V combined is 275watt

Also, these are triple fan design.

Power supplies are somewhat long term investments unlike motherboards which seem to change every 3 months or so and having some overhead is nice in the long run IMO. These units are about the same price as the EnerMax 465 with much higher specifications and the instruction sheet inside says they are approved for AMD Athlon MP processor motherboards which can't be a bad thing. :D

I got lured into buying a 45AMP PSU when that rumor came out.
HEC-525VD-T, it cost me $100 at the local computer show.
I'm sort of glad I got it, it has extra connectors for my electric razor and hair dryer!:flame:

I got the TTGI520SS and TTGI550SS worried about upgrading to TBreds and ClawHammer later this year and got the two units. I won't have to upgrade for hopefully a very long time.
