Hey guys,
I have come over from Guru3D in hopes that you can help me answer a question.
I want to switch over to a 146 Opteron, partly due to all the magnificient OC reviews I read here. Problem is, my mobo ht speed seems to max out @ 280 MHz. No matter what I try, anything past 282MHz locks up the system.
Now, a I doing something completelöy wrong or is that just the average maximum I can expect.
I did the usual (i.e. lowered all other factors like cpu, ram etc., locked the pci/agp-bus, switched my sata to the second controller, increased vVGA-bus, etc), all to no avail. Even with a Opti 146, that'll mean a max OC of 2.8 GHz. Is there any way I can move past this bottleneck? The Neo2 doesn't offer an option to increase chipset voltage, but maybe there is a mod or an alternative bios?
