This Car dyno'd to 221 whp and 218 ft/lbs of Torque @ 7.5psi

and she will spank the following surprised cars.

Mustang GT's
Camaro V6's
Firebird V6's
Audi A4
BMW 325i's
79 Camaro's (on the freeway)
Every "riced" out civic
SRT 4 Neons

This car gets demolished by

RS6's
Corvettes
Cobra's
Evo's
WRX STi's

She is my favorite little sleeper.. as no one expects a purple saturn to put down 220+ Wheel Horsepower with only 2200 lbs.

some awesome guys with much faster saturns than i.

qt mile times?
and im not sure about the mustang GT comment, the 01 motor change, gives mustangs 260 hp, about 240 to the wheel, and my brother's will beat an sti or evo any day, though he has a couple light modifications

bullet2urbrain
11-09-2005, 06:20 PM
14.2 @ 103 on street tires...
dunno bout on slicks....

however the mustang comment i can assure you due to power to weight.

they have ~240 rwhp however they weigh in ~3500lbs.. or more.
my car is 220whp weighing in at just over 2000lbs... with me

3300/240 = 13.75 lb per hp

2000/220 = 9.09 lb per hp its alot easier to move 9lbs than 14lbs.

mnewxcv
11-09-2005, 06:29 PM
well the 05 stang has 300hp..bout 265 to the wheels....qt in 13.9.. that would beat yours.

and the 01 stang will do the quarter in 14.1 @ 99mph (ps, it weighs under 3300lbs)

nice car tho, always interesting to see the unusual

bullet2urbrain
11-09-2005, 06:51 PM
the 05 stang will beat me yes.. that is true.. altho i wont know till i try..

and i promise i will wail on the 4.6L V8 GT.... and they do weigh 3300lbs with driver..i will find it.

Ford Mustang GT

Engine Type: V8
Displacement cu in (cc): 281 (4606)
Power bhp (kW) at RPM: 300(221) / 5750rpm
Torque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM: 320(434) / 4500
Driveline: Rear Wheel Drive
Weight lb (kg): 3483 (1582)
Acceleration 0-62 mph : 5.2 seconds
Top Speed mph (km/h): 149 (240)
Power per ton : 170.3 BHP / ton

trance565
11-09-2005, 10:02 PM
then u should put the sti in the " i will beat it" category lol

bullet2urbrain
11-09-2005, 10:08 PM
still cant beat it... cuz AWD > me.. i cant drive well enough to even pull a comparable 60' time.. any decent driver with AWS can pull 1.8 60' times where as i pull like a 2.2-2.3 60' because of no traction..

uptop i can wail on WRX's but out of the lower end they get a big headstart.

trance565
11-09-2005, 10:12 PM
lol, my brother wailed on my friend's from a 20 roll, and from a stop, it was even till half way through 2nd gear, when my brother stopped spinning xD

oh yea, is ur BOV one of the sharp whistles, or is it one of the lower tones that you can't hear from the outside?

bullet2urbrain
11-09-2005, 10:25 PM
lower.. you can hear it pshhh when i let off the throttle.. its always good for some interesting looks in traffic......

i just have no traction till midway through 2nd.. or till 3rd depending on conditions and such.

Funny comment... lets have a STI with some "light modifications" and have him dump clutch 4 wheels and leave the GT in dust ? With a rolling start i'm not sure, but well to be honest (okayokay! :p) i dont like them heavy americans, cornering with a wrx is just so much better :)

I dont know if the STI is the same "special" version of the WRX in the US, because in Holland the price difference is about 20.000 euro's. But the improvement is really the brakes/gearing/transmission/4wd system.
I have driven all recent WRX models, 2004 WRX and STI and the new 2006 WRX and the new STI which is sweeeet with manual adjustable C-dif ^^

its fun having a 200hp FWD lightweight car eh?

my 2.5L V6 NA MX-3 is ~180whp/175wtq, so its a bit behind yours, but fun nonetheless.

Nice to see something fast besides another honda :)

bullet2urbrain
11-10-2005, 09:53 AM
and now the reason why i have done this emerges... i did it to have something that was completely different from the beaten path... its no fun for me to see civic after civic... now i have something new and different for people to check out.

there are ~40 Turbo Saturns running around the USA

Sweet mod man, well done!!
Did you have to do anything to the computer or fuel rail for boost conditions?

/me slips big spring on waistgate arm to pull 10lbs more boost

bullet2urbrain
11-10-2005, 11:08 AM
i have 2 more injectors welded into the charge pipe for boost conditions.. they are controlled by an SDS EIC or Simple Digital Systems Extra Injector Controller.

very simple to operate and i cant tune on the fly.

7 to 8psi is all i can run.. this baby has all stock internals more or less. it has SOHC pistons to lower the Static compression ratio a lil bit.

been done, the guy we raced/race has intake, and exhaust just like my brother, only thing he doesnt have is a timing adjuster, which is the only thing my brother has that he doesnt.

Nice little Sleeper.

Should be able to do mid/low 13's on slicks.

nice, but then again, it is a saturn :\

but it won't last long without fuel management.

bullet2urbrain
11-11-2005, 08:10 AM
there is not a standalone fuel management.. there is a piggy back system.... there is fuel control.. its not the stock computer doing all of it.

and yes thats the point its a saturn... not a honda or ford or other "typical" 4 cylinder "tuner" car.

I drive a honda and I dont consider it a "typical tuner". But it's an old CRX, the generation before the "rice" crx.

theres more SC'ed ecotecs around than turbos.

if you want max top end be sure to get a crank pulley

bullet2urbrain
11-14-2005, 07:30 PM
which is why i dont drive an ecotec.... and there arent many Aftermarket SC'ed Ecotec's.... the Redline and the Cobalt SS are not aftermarket....

my engine is not an Ecotec... its the 1.9L DOHC or LLO

I like it. If you only had some higher grade pistosns and reinforced the crank and piston arms. Run some reinforcing parts on the valve heads, im shure you could probably duble the boost. But being that your fwd it may make your car a bit more unstable but 300hp saturn would be cool huh?

I like it very mutch. Dont change a thing.

bullet2urbrain
11-17-2005, 10:02 AM
how's about a 388whp saturn???? there is guy running around the internet and California with one... not to mention a couple people in the 340whp range.. and a couple with saturn dragsters in the 11second range.

i'll post this up and hope you guys check it out...

Thanks and yeah i'd love to get Forged Pistons and Rods... but unfortunately i spend all my monies on computer parts.. and Rods and Pistons for my car are like 1200 Dollars for both...quite expensive.

Thats awsome. I like the videos. Nice lil sleeper. The engine is a 1.9L engine you said. Who designed and manufactured it? It dosent look like a gm production but I could be wrong.

bullet2urbrain
11-19-2005, 03:45 PM
sure you can ask.. but unfortunately your going to be disappointed.

i run 7psi daily... however max PSI on stock internals with my Smallish T3 is about 8-10 psi depending on the tune....

the stock rods go SNAP!!! @ ~250whp/240ft/lbs

the engine has only ~6k on the rebuild because thats a 97engine +- ... the car is really a frankenstein.. it has a 94 block a 97 head.. a 96 cam cover... its pieced together.

the max that the car has been dyno'd on is
221 whp / 218 ft/lbs of trq.

i will find it and post it.

the old lt1 could handle about 12 or so on completly stock internals, or so I been told.

I like it. Looks awsome. Good numbers. Looks like you have done your homework. what was the total for parts? If you dont mind me asking? I may decide to build me a nice little saturn if the price aint too bad.

bullet2urbrain
11-19-2005, 05:03 PM
well the price isnt bad... check out alphatuning.com they make the ONLY pre-made turbo kit for saturns S Series....the rest that are made are COMPLETE garbage..

i'd say total not including labor (ie welding) would be around 3000 dollars.. US

only cuz the cost of a nearly new engine and then the piping was expensive...

I'll throw this out there... if i could do one thing differently i would use an EIC 0304 fi for fuel control as opposed to an SDS EIC... only because altho the 0304 is more "difficult" to tune.. once its tuned.. its tuned.. unlike my current system where i have to monitor it with major weather changes.... altho to tune my current setup is only 2 knobs.

bad news for the car...

let me guess. You threw a rod. Or head gasket went?

I hope its the gasket.

How bad is the damage?

Can it be fixed? U were racing? or was it normal driving?

Some sort of motor cycle?

SquireSCA
11-29-2005, 06:37 PM
Welll.. yes... so I cheated by only having two wheels.

'05 CBR600F4i
Power Commander with custom dyno FI maps
regeared -1 in front, +1 in rear
Yoshimura TRS Race Carbon Fiber pipe
Double-bubble Windscreen
Converted to full synthetic oil

With the new gearing, it tops out at only 140mph, but it gets there blazing fast. I just added a speedo-healer today to recalibrate the speedo/odo due to it being 12% off from the sprocket changes.

Light and quick and that pipe sounds awesome at 14,000rpm. But it is not insane acceleration of a literbike, where you add another 70HP in the same size and weight package. Maybe next year!

bullet2urbrain

welp.. the boom is fixed already...i thought it was the headgasket but it was really just a silicon coupler letting loose.. yes i was racing.. and doing 124 when all of a sudden i couldnt put the car into boost.... she just wouldnt go...

well i let it sit overnight and inspected stuff... checked coolant.. plugs..oil....

then i drove to work and everything was gravy

Good stuff. It would be a shame to destroy such a sleeping lil monster. So how about them upgraded internals and forged parts? Boost it up to 60psi+ and you got a ferrari killer. LOL
