M2 socket, nice.

o.k.

I hive one stupid question about dual core?

The amd dual core processor, mean two cpu's at a clock rate of 2.4ghz
So each cpu clock rate is 1.4ghz is that right or wrong or
Both cpu are 2.4ghz clock rated.

I ask this question because of the Apple POWERMAC PC it has two cpu's
Rated 1.6ghz/ea and 2.0ghz/ea.

If I over clock the amd 64x2 4800 to 2.6ghz using ddr600 OCZ mem,
It will be as fast, as an Intel 660 3.6ghz / overclock to 4.6ghz fsb 1346mhz/mem 841.2mhz.
What about Intel 840 3.2ghz dual core/ oc to 4.2ghz would that be faster.
Is that true?

Wrong, each core on an X2 is its rated clock speed. In the case of a 4800, its 2.4 ghz a core.. An, an X2 will practically molest anything intel can throw at it. Dual core is a different territory compared to single..

AMD still wins however.

ok heres the deal

with dual core, the clock speed is based off of each core. so lets say i ahve a 1.8 ghz cpu

think of a dual core of 2 of them on 1 cpu.
But, it will give no preformance increase in gaming unless you own a game thats optimized for dual core.

Thats the story

Actually, it does give a small increase in performance because the other background tasks can be unloaded to the second core.
