Just bought an Abit AT7 and a Tbred 2200 AMD and the thermaltake volcano 9 is setting at 70C. I need to know the best possible set up HSF to keep my CPU cool. I am using a mid to small case unfortunately so the fan needs to be as quiet as possible, but I need to be cooler than 70C at idol. Please help:)

the slk800 is one the best available. just mate it with a low to medium flow fan and you should be fine.

70c is really hot for that chip, you may want to make sure the HSF is mounted correctly.

That is hot, check to be sure hsf is mounted correctly. What voltage and MHz are you running. That cpu is also one of the hottest running chips I have ever used.

What kind of thermal compound are you using to mate that setup? That V9 should be doing a lot better than that. Granted it's not the best on the market, but it's still a good performer. It should keep you at around 40c @ idle at least.
