what is the difference between HX and ZX?
G.Skill series:
- HX: $265/133 PC3200 - 2-3-2-5 @ 200 MHz (light blue(?)), chips undisclosed
- ZX: $213/115 PC3200 - 2-3-2-5 @ 200 MHz (light turquoise), chips undisclosed
- HS: $223/114 PC3200 - 2.5-3-3-6 @ 200 MHz (medium blue), Samsung UCCC
- HZ: $245/122 PC4000 - 3-4-4-8 @ 250 MHz (black), Samsung UCCC

The HZ and HS are the same thing, just binned differently, the HZ is
rated 250 MHz and the HS 200 MHz. The timings at 200 MHz will not be
as good as the HX and ZX sets.

The ZX is their new PC3200 kit. Good timings. It will probably not
go much over 200 MHz (seems very similar to the OCZ PC3200 Platinum),
but there are quite a few people who have it above 250 MHz. Almost
certain Infineon chips.

The HX is the older PC3200 kit. Didn't see forum users posting
results. G.Skill employee says of the kits they are most likely to
reach 250 2.5-3-2-5, but nothing guaranteed. No info on chips except
he said the chips on HX are more exensive than the ones on ZX (which
are Infineon).

the difference about 2GBHX and 2GBZX
they actually announced at same date

1. different chips/ IC
2. Price
3. Overclock timing

since 2GBHX can do 2.5-3-2-5 @ DDR500 but 2GBZX can not.

@Martin Cracauer
thank you for answer it so detail :)

No, I am sorry :)

Well, from everything I've been reading so far, I'm guessing Hynix chips. But what do I know. :)

GSKILL TECH

Sorry but 2GBZX is not using Hynix Chip :) if uses Hynix, there is nothing need to hide!

Is the ZX using the new Winbond chip like Onepagebook said (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1151203#post1151203)?

Can HX go higher with looser timings? (i.e. 3-3-3-8 or smthg?)

GSKILL TECH

it is not using Winbond chip and somehow HX like 2.5 better, 3 is not good

Thank you for your response

And is a chance to go higher with 2,5 but looser other timings?

my F1-3200PHU2-2GBZX 2 x 1gb cas2,3,2,5 is doing 250fsb 2.8V 1:1 in my EVGA nf41 sli at cas3,4,4,8,2T right now prime 95 for 16 hours.

this board is know to have problems with 1gb ram stick not going over 250fsb, and you have to use 2t too.

on my asus kt800pro board it would not do anywhere near that, i guess the nf4 is what near all people use nowadays.

So the HX is better than the HZ for OC

HX is rated at DDR500?

HX = DDR400.
HZ = DDR500.

HZ > HX

i think...

it happened long time ago! now is like DDR500 3-3-2-5

Wrong on both counts.

I was asking retorically because if that was the case the HX would be better than the HZ

It's hard to tell since you ask the same questions over and over here and on dfi-street.

HZ is rated DDR500 and HX is rated at DDR400
at stock rate HZ is better

What is default Vmem for GSkill HX? My mobo sets 2,7V. Is it correct?
