My CPU idle temp is 27C and load is 33C (one instance of D2OL), two will bring it to 37-38C or so. The thing is that I only have one fan on the APEX kit running, and it's running at 7v. I also have the pump at setting between 2-3, out of possible 5. Room temp is around 23C. Hmm.... Vcore is 1.53. I tried 1.68 but it didn't increase my speed by over 100Mhz, probably not even 50, so I consider that worthless.

Entire computer is very quiet. PWM sits at a comfy 35C. :woot: Looks like I will never need to power up the other fan on my rad

where are your temp readings from? cpu socket or diode?

diode.

well, it's the thermal diode inside the CPU that gives reading to smartguardian.

I'm sure Ive already told you this, but those readings are pretty much garbage.

BUT kudos to you for being able to have such a quiet system.

whats ur Mhz on the cpu?

Garbage? Where did you get that from?

My cpu idles at 3C below ambient :D

I think that says everything. It is at least 5C off mark.

A good way to check the amount of junkiness of those readings is to set the voltage and clock at minimum, and read the idle temperatures. At least we have an idea of the offset at idle (not that it translates necessarily to the same offset at load)

Yes, that's easy to do.

I do have a 30 wire gauge thermcouple, but so far I have NOT been able to convince my lazy butt to take out waterblock, reapply Ceramique, sandwich thermocouple between the IHS and waterblock, then take reading.

Has anyone paid attention to the name of this thread? ;) I didn't say, woot, I am so happy, this apex kit rocks that I am getting such low numbers. :D

Probably get lower load temps with more fans, but as long as your stable then enjoy the silence :)

With the temp probe.

I find that water temp is much more helpfull / interesting than CPU temp.

If your waterblock mount is good then the only real variable with CPU temp will be the water anyway ... easyer to measure that than the CPU itself.

water temp is 30C, CPU temp is 35C. ambient is 19C

I would say if it's quiet, and it's stable - don't worry about it. If it's too hot, the system will let you know. :)

Water temp seems pretty good to me considering the noise level.

That means you can get 5-7*c lower temps with more fans / rad power. Should you ever want it (say for a 3dmark run or whatever)

how many F is 19c? How many fans total do you have running in the entire system?

one fan at pwm, one fan at ram, one fan at HD.
