View Full Version : good firewall or proxy software?

hey guys,

what do u recommend for a firewall software or proxy software? i am somewhat concerned about security coz i will be running a big ftp site for a couple of friends soon.

thanks for any input.

btw, i use a hp 200n router/hub.

Well, you should be alright with your router, but Zone Alarm is a detailed soft firewall you may want to check out.

zone alarm is good and free but I would try Sygate Personal Firewall.

www.sygate.com and downlaod their free personal firewall.

never had any problems...

if you go with either Zone Alarm or Sygate, your good to go!

I have found TPF (tiny personal firewall) to be the best software firewall out...not the new one..it is junk...but the version 2. It will even stop the kernal from connecting to M$. Zonealarm and SPF and the new TPF will not stop it.
