I was looking for something else to do with Super Pi and came up with this. Try getting into various minute segments with the lowest possible clock speeds. It requires some time and effort to get what these people have done and what we are looking for. More than just fast times. If someone has a lower (22.59 21.59 etc) or higher min. segment for a challenge feel free. I have a couple to start, a 24min and a 23min. with what I think are fairly minimal speeds. I think along with the Pi screen, a cpu-z and Tweaker should be good. Anything additional is fine as well. This is wide open any type hardware welcome. Here we go, if you can get into the 23's or 24's at a lower speed, let it be shown.

Time to hit the club scene and find yourself a girl M8 ;)

:) mmm,way to late for that..married, kids. 4m, geez, start it up and go do something and come back. Besides, I have a pair of computers on a kvm switch, it is not like I'm watching each second. Ohh, it is sad.

Those seem to be able to do Pi very well. That is a very good time for that speed compared to other type processors. EDIT** I've been under the weather last couple days, but I know what thread this is now. ( I did not see a smiley for brain fry)

Fully tweaked - meaning......? It's basically just tweaked RAM settings on Server 2003. TBH, I don't think it's possible to run a faster 32m time @ that speed (11x270). If you take a look at the BH-5/UTT/LL stable OC thread, you'll see that this run is the fastest by far compared to others running similar cpu speeds..... ;)

Woot!!, I guess. That's really good. That is alot lower speed than I thought would possibe for 23min. When I think that though it many times goes down to a new level. Might be time to look at 22 or 25min. scales. It does take some time to run through the test, but it's also kind of fun to see what it takes to get there. @ bachus, it looks like the 1gb is worth about 3sec. I was considering changing to 256's to try but looks like I'll work with these more. Nice to see the post.

I'm sure you can lower those volts just a tad, especially since you're on air.

Hmm, aint got a CPU that runs 3ghz yet.. (waiting 'till 144's in the shops @ DK)..

But So far, dynamic = off?
and... WinXP 64bit should give a bit better result than 2003... Futher 133mhz 7.8 us or 200mhz 15.xx us gives a slightly better result as far as 32M goes, 1M 100mhz 1.95us r0x, but if reruned it gives a bit "unstable" time, which doesnt happen in a such large scale with the other settings I've written

OPB, any experiences on that one ? :P - Am I totally wrong, or is it correct? - Anyways, worked on my 2 different pair of GH :)

@MAXXXRACER, it does take some time I agree. 2m or 8m is WAY to short, imo, and would not reflect much. Which leaves 16m. Not too long really, and still requires some effort. If you started a 16m thread, I'd do that. I would think it would be more active than this one. Or, people who are able could save some time by running 32m in the 21'5X" or 22'5X". OPB??

@dfx, congrats, that is a very good time for sure. However, it may be more suited for one of the other SPi threads. Let me explain. All someone needs to do is run a 22min. time with less than 3450mhz to beat. Simple. Now, if you could get 1.6 seconds off your time to get in the 21min range, you will have something to challenge.

Are you 100% certain about this? I'm not arguing as I have no idea for sure myself...never had a CPU with an 11x multiplier...

According to Oskar Wu's oscillator tests, the divider resulting from the 11x multiplier and 180mhz ratio is CPU/13. However, 12 makes perfect sense as well...as at stock HTT, 11x would result in 2200MHz, 2200/12 = exactly 183 1/3 MHz, which the ratio technically is; not 180MHz.

I'm just curious about what your source is exactly. The 180MHz divider has bothered me virtually since A64's came out.

I'm 100% sure that at multi x11, div180 is actually div183, which results in CPU/12, not CPU/13. I PMed Franck long time ago and he told me that div180 is "kind of unofficial" and he assumes div180, not div183.
My source is experience :D Also, e.g. take a look at coop's time @ 285x11 div180 (23:59) and compare it to eva2000's 314x10 div166 (23:59). Eva2000's result shows DDR522 but Coop's only DDR482. Both results are identical, therefore CPU-Z in Coop's case is wrong. I was having exactly same results when I was playing with my 3700+. I should still have some screenies somewhere.

@ Rammie - that's a sweet run you've got there. By chance have you tried cl2 @ that speed. I gave 13x269 a go but my memory was a little flakey for some reason. That'll all be solved when I get a very special DFI SLI-DR Expert board here by Friday........ :woot:

These RAMs won't do cl2 over 270 on the Ultra-D.They will do under 20 at 270x13.

So basically you ran cl1.5 to run 274? Maybe I need to try that to get them to run up to speed. BTW - is the cooling a stock vapols?

No, not that I can tell. But the volts required for me to get 3Ghz 32m is alot less with the Opti. The two runs aren't exactly the same, only cpu speed, timings are close. I just installed it last night and was seeing how it was. I hope I'm able to get into the 21's and a 24 sec 1m with it though.

I'm changing my previous answer to "yes". The difference between the two different cpu that I have anyway is considerable. I'm going to get a list set up for the "Time Zones" and put it in the first post for ease of reference. I will try to do today.

My Op/sys is stock with sp2 and all drivers I need etc. No tweaks, maxmem or special anything. I'm seeing that some of you guys miss the point of this thread. I will add to what s7e9h3n said, to make it more clear:

"The goal is to use the least CPU MHz possible to break into certain time zones. Posting a result, like 20:33 or 20:10 does not make sense at all. One needs to post time from e.g. 20.55.xxx to 20.59.xxx, and certainly not 21:02:xxx ;) The goal is to barely squeeze right below a 21:00 (or 22:00, 23:00, 24:00, etc). As an example, dinoss22's result (post #143) is perfect but Unseen's (post #142) does not fit here at all ;) I say we should be taking under consideration only results within 5s below, e.g. 20:55.000 to 20:59.999..."

EDIT: Although Unseen's run doesn't quite fit, I'd like to say he builds some of the nicest looking phase units around :)

Nice bachus, you seem to have things dialed in quite well. The 5 sec guideline is good, but for now with us few playing, we can have 5 or 6 places in each catagory. I did remove a couple in the 23.XX as there was seven with a gap in the speeds at the lower end. Places can be expanded too.

I'm keeping your 24.05 for now. It is the only other one. If you like try to do another one, i.e., 24.59 at the slowest speed you can get it done at. It is a good suggestion, I've seen it in other threads. I'm not very adept at things like that. I will see about upgrading.

dinos22, much better, also the 3025 ss, there was already 5 or 6 in the 23.xx and the mhz became a factor in the cutoff. Tough class. Places may be expanded later though.

in my test last night i ended up getting a better time on my stock comparison timings with SCSI drives despite s7's comments in another thread ....so i'll be giving it another crack with new drives....just trying to source some BH5 so i can give you <3000 people a run for your money in 23.xx.......and get the 22.xx happening

I just want to add, that coops's RAM is NOT running @ 241MHz (as CPU-Z shows). It's actually @ 261MHz... Multi x11 and div180 is a bit tricky and does not produce CPU/13 mem speed. It's is CPU/12. Everest shows correct speed but CPU-Z does not. I talked with Franck a while ago about it and showed him some screens to prove that. So far, nothing has changed...

Very nice run, BTW... I'm gonna try to top that :p:
that one had me confused.....glad you cleared it up as i've been looking at different combinations for bloody CPU/12 mem speed hehehehe

this thread makes no sense coop...........if you look at the first page the info is irrelevant as you've got different manufacturers' CPUs and models with only MHz listed...........i think you need to start making distinctions

oh, I totally forgot about this one! I got my E6600/P5B Dx on Friday and will join you guys for "below 14m" challenge. I'm kind of stuck with stock cooler for now, and it maxes my C2D at 3.6GHz, 32M stable... I will update this post tonight with circa 3.52-3.55GHz screen :D

EDIT:
I will update this post tonight with circa 3.52-3.55GHz screen :DOk, I lied...

Realtime, affinity, and, are you sure you performed copy-waza correctly? - I didnt and wondered what the hell... Then I asked the master himself (Kyosen), and now it helps quite a bit..

Are you using 500mhz as well? ;)

EDIT:
Win2k3 was better due memtweaks, right? - But this aint A64, so I actually think winXP will do slightly better...

There's no way I can match Bachus with the screwiness of the board/mem combo, but, perhaps 1:1 isn't that much worse than 4:5 when tuned properly? :p:

I wish I could try to compare your second one but my board starts getting unstable at 410MHz FSB.

tRD 5 is really worth that much eh?

I was having a feeling it perhaps was the "Standard" memory parameter?

That's another thing to keep in mind, if running 4:5 takes so much loosening, is it really worth it?

Enjoy the extra multi. :p:
