How do you back up firefox bookmarks?

I need to format and all my favorite links, bookmarks are in firefox and I can't figure out what file to save so that after I format and reinstal fire fox, I can just replace the file and go back to having all my saved links.

Any help would be great.

go to

bookmarks> manage bookmarks>file > export

and there you are
