Is there much difference between NEC and LG DVD±RW?

I've bought a DVD±RW named LG GSA-4165B. Now it's with the last firmware.

The question is:
Is there much difference between GSA-4165B and a NEC 3540A, 3520A, for example?
What are the differences? Are they significant?
