View Full Version : How to remove polish from a mobo?

hey guys i think i killed a dfi sli-dr trying to insulate it, the polish might have done it, now is there any way to remove it?? what kind of product? the mobo boots goes into windows but is incredibly unstable

If it boots then it's not dead... nail polish remover i'm guessing. I use nail polish on my mobo aswell and it's not 'dead'.

acetone should work?? i now its not completely dead but when i boot it gives BSOD entering windows.

Are you at stock?

Acetone removes it fine.

yep stock, problem might be bios and my ram i belive it has a bios for bh/ch/utt and i use tccd.


i also get the same problem my ultra-d if i load optimized defaults i get BSDO entering windows and at 2500mhz is rock stable.

I use acetone to remove nail polish from my mobo and it works great :)

Did u get nail polish in the cpu or ram sockets?

nop just mobo, maybe a bit into ram sockets but i dont think so

Maybe a bad windows install. Try reinstalling it?
