I will post before and after benches for DOOM 3, Far Cry, HL2 and BF2. Audigy2 vs X-Fi. :toast:

One of my friends already got one. From his words, if compared to Audigy2 ZS he's been using before, the sound is now much *better* (crisper, more detailed etc). He also said he completely didn't await such an outcome (and AFAIK, he's not a Creative fanboy). Still, I suspect, there might be a strong placebo effect involved ;)

Yeah I was kinda disappointed when I found out there isn't heatsinks on the chip :(
If you find a way to clock this sucker higher be sure to post it...
I was thinking about X-Fi too. You will probably get more FPS but that is not the main thing I was looking for.
The only question is whether it is worth getting Fatal1ty/Elite version which has onboard RAM or not.

I just got mine and its amazing compared to my old Audigy 2. I used to love my vortex 2 but this blows it out of the water. The headphone surround is awesome but I hope they fixed a problem I have. The sound from virtual rear and side speakers are very real...really sounds behind or to the sides but the sounds from front speakers sound right on my headphones thus kills the effect a little. I know projecting sound in front of me is possible cause using Power DVDs dolby headphone the effect its stunning. Comparing Dolby Headphone to X-Fi I will have to say they are sort of even. Dolby Headphone has way better front speakers projection. Center speakers sounds equally in your head with both. Side speakers sound very real to your sides with a light X-Fi advantage. Rear speakers is all X-fi as Dolby Headphone doesnt even try to go there. Rear Center sounds almost like center but you can tell is behind you. So I hope creative fixes the front speaker problem and I will be in heaven.

BTW I got the Fatal1ty for $199 from Frys due to a price error! It took me about an hour to make them honor the price but I did it.
