deskstar 7k250 poor performance

Well as usual i have a dumb question.

the other day i benched my sata II hitachi deskstar 7k250 250GB HD.

i believe i got like 50 or 60 MB/S max.

seeing that its rated for 300MB/S
i was wondering if it is performing low because I need different drivers or thats the normal performance for that drive.

any help will do

Well I think if you wanna see 300mb/s you have to get more of those and connect them as raid. It's a very logical question btw. I've got 4 raptors linked on raid=0 and all I get is around 120 mb/s. I'm assuming you're using HDTach for benching

with HD tach i just benched 133MB/s

The max speed of the HD's as listed is the burst speed from cache. Sustained transfer rates will be the 50-60 you posted....
