Even better , more choices for the end user. I always liked geil , ever since the geil golden dragon days. I had a 1 gb kit which is going strong still , goes upto DDR500 and its DDR400 specs. Geil has never disappointed me :D .

this is the specialty for UCCC. with low voltage it can go up all the way to it's max.
however, adding more voltage will not result a better OC

What is the highest stable that you can reach on the gskill using 3-3-3-8 settings or maybe even 3-4-3-8? I like the speeds for the price but the timings are a little lagging for me. With my x2 3800 my patriots sticks are low at ddr 434 but the timings are at 2.5-3-2-8 and my everest scores are 6000+ for memory read and 2500+ for write. I am sure that the gskills can do better scores if the timings were relaxed a little.

Here on my lowly Soltek K8T-939 board, 2 sticks of the G.Skill 1GB PC4000, running at 250 MHz, read score is 5837 in Everest, 2569 write, at 1T-3-4-4-8.
I can run it at 270 or 290 with a multiplier, haven't tested that yet in Everest. The above scores are with a full compliment of background processes running.

I just wanted to clarify that OPB's cpu is a RETAIL cpu bought from an online store. No handpicking was involved and that particular stepping is available to every "average joe". If you ever have a chance to talk to OPB personally, you'll know why his benches are so outrageous - his knowledge about memory and their timings is unparalleled by anyone I have ever spoke to......this is just my :2cents: so mods - edit away :p:

Hallo,

I've tried serveral Bios but i am not able to get this RAM stable @270Mhz @ 3-4-4-8. 32M always stops after the first iteration. For 260Mhz i need active cooling @2,55V. Otherwise Memtest won't pass. Is this normal?

Could you post your Bios Settings, please and tell me which Bios is best for this ram? thx

Even with 260Mhz i've got problems with 32M. Around Loop 20. Memtest shows no errors. Day of Defeat Source crashes after 15min.

if you can run 32M to 20 loops then it has error, i believe most the time is on CPU.
do you have any other CPU can test. cuz to me if there is no error on windows memtest 800%, 90% of the time that problem is not cause by RAM.

On the DFI mobo using the 704-2BTA bios.. I used 2.6V to the ram and was able to max out at 280x9 LDT3 with ram set to 1/01 3-4-8-4. Booted into Windows and ran SuperPi without errors. Also ran Aquamark3 and scored 76,591.. as soon as I bumped it up to 285 it puked. I tried a divider but no joy, it did not work. Upping the V up to 2.7 did not work either. Any suggestions and I will see what else I can squeeze out of it. I did try the previous series of the bios from DFI and I hit the wall at 250 with the same exact settings. I don't have the ram settings as they are at home but I can get some numbers if you all would find them useful. I am going to go back to the 704-2BTA bios as it seems I can push it better with that one.

My CPU runs 20hours of Prime (In-place large FFTs & Blend) stable @289*9=2600Mhz RAM / FSB async. I do not have an option to test with an other CPU. (Maybe in 2-3 weeks i can test @ my brothers rig. DFI nf4 feat. 3500+ Winnie)

This may give you an idea.. if anyone can take a gander at them and offer suggestions I am up for it.

CPU VID Startup 1.45V | CPU VID Control 1.45V | CPU VID Special 104% | LDT V 1.4 | Chipset V 1.7 | DRAM V 2.8 | CPU Multi is 9x | LDT Multi is 4x | FSB 280

Anything below 3X multi will not boot and I cannot go above that FSB.. different timings maybe?? not even with the 9/10 divider.. maybe a different divider will work better?? New to this so not sure where I can go next.

I just ordered a pair of these.. Ill be using them on an Abit A8n-SLi tho. Maybe I shouldnt went the DFI route.. everyone here has one..lol I'll be reporting my results with a 3800x2 when they arrive.

demonR6

I dunno dude.. in hindsight the DFI board is really quirky and a pain in the rear to set up properly. It just has so many things about it that may or may not play nice that maybe the board you have is a good idea. This driver won't work, that bios won't work use this one but those nForce drivers don't work well with that bios.. and be sure to not use the IDE drivers if you have that bios but yada yada.. come to think of it.. the DFI is a pain in the ass.

it is true, if dfi bios doesn't setup properly, will result unstable

I don't have any of the problems people report with the DFI NF4 boards, after I updated to the newest official BIOS (DFI site, not a modded one). The only thing that I have is that the DFI and my Seasonic PSU don't like each other. But all RAM slots work (even together), it likes all my RAM sticks, both my 3200+ and my X2 3800+ etc.

demonR6
10-07-2005, 12:58 PM
For example.. the latest official DFI drivers from the site do not allow me to go above 250 FSB. I had to use one of the modded bios files.. the Forceware drivers don't play nice with my WD SATA drive.. the Catalyst drivers, well we all know the Catalyst drivers are hit and miss matter which ones you use. :)

JCGhz
10-07-2005, 03:59 PM
Well... im not going to spring for a DFI unless this board proves to be an underachiever which I was starting to believe untill I updated to beta 18 bios which allowed my SB X-Fi to work. I cant overclock just yet.. ram is good LL stuff but not made for overclocking. My 2x1gb OCZ platinum memory sucks for overclocking on both my IC7-Max3 and this A8N-SLI lesson learned... read read read. Even after reading I cant figure out how to use a divider with the A8N and my 3800X2 soo...new ram on the way.

The f...ed up state of NVidia's Windoze drivers should not be mistaken for DFI board problems.

A few months ago Ithought NVidia was unfriendly to the Linux and FreeBSD fooks because it didn't help them write drivers. Now I see it is actually the other way round :)

Adding more V to CPU or ram does not help, I have not been able to get a divider it likes either. It may be a motherboard/bios compatibility with 2GB?? Either way it looks like I cannot get above 280 on this CPU, I am going to retire this one and look for another. I want more.. :)

I am pickup up a WC system, maybe I can push the envelope a little more once I get that and maybe not have to send this CPU into early retirement.

I'm able to shake 257 out of them stable, for now.

My settings are 285*9 is at 2.6V | LDT 3 | core 1.45 @ 110% | LDT V 1.5 | Chipset V 1.6

If I lower to 280*9 I can use LDT 4..

I have had the best luck with the 704-2BTA bios on the DFI NF2 Ultra D.. On the 623 and 510 bioses I had problems going above 250. Mind you that the 704-2BTA is not an official bios and can void your warranty. That said, we are overclocking so by nature we are just one big voided mess anyways. :)

If you read my sig, you can see what I have my voltages set at.. also what LDT are you using? If you are trying x4 it may not work. I just got lucky and I can run my memory at the settings they are at without dividers etc.

I really cannot go back and check any of my settings in detail anymore becuase I am in the process of setting up my rig for watercooling. I have to wait until at least Wednesday before the GPU water block arrives, I was hoping to be up and running at latest this weekend but I decided at last minute to include the GPU in the mix as well so I am down for six days. :(

Runs hot for you? Really? How many volts are you running through them? I never remember mine being hot at all at 280.. I have run them as high as 2.8V but found no difference in my OC at 2.6V so I have maintained that voltage.

I have not read on people not being able to OC much on these.. I have hit 2520 comfortably on these where my other ram could not get in the ballpark. Remember, these are 2@1024 not 2@512.. I have seen individuals having trouble OC'ing with 2@1024 in general though. I am happy with the performance of these.. for the money I spent on them, I feel like they have delivered as promised.

Im giving them 2.6V but it's overvolting to like 2.68. I don't have the best cooling in my case but I run without the door. And it's really clean with cables and so on. But i,ve seen some people having high screws that they attach in the mother board holes. I would like to know where I can get those screws=D.

Im also happy with the peformance of these sticks, the diffrence between 1GiB and 2GiB is huge. In games like BF2, B&W2, F.E.A.R and so on maxed is 2GiB a MUST!

Could you show me some memory bandwith with sisoftsandra or that other program ppl use, i´ve forgot the name of it!

You mean the standoffs that mount the board to the case? Yes, I have some that came with my CM Stacker case that are longer than normal. I would think you should be able to find those online somewhere?? The only concenr I would have is whether or not that will make the motherboard sit too high and you cannot fit your graphics card or other cards. Also how would that affect the location of your back panel? It won't line up right if it is too high up.

I noticed a huge difference in Battlefield 2 with the 2GB of memory. Later this week when I have my computer back together I will get some memory benchmarks. I have to wait on my GPU waterblock to arrive before I can put everything back together again. :)

I actually bought it because my other memory needed a lot of voltage and in my new build with my DFI NF4 I did not have as good a location to actively cool my ram. I have tried 2.7~2.8 and really did not notice much of a difference in my situation so I left it at that. I cannot get above 280 without errors, maybe juicing it above 2.8V would solve the problem but again, I do not want to run bleeding hot voltages through memory again if I don't have to.

G.Skill Tech, I don't mind offering help.. I am just passing along my personal experiences hoping it can help someone else possibly troubleshoot a problem and get them going. :)

Sorry I have not posted anything in a while. I took everything apart the week before last to set up the watercooling and I just got back up and running although it looks like I am modding the pump for more performance. I wish I would just leave things alone that aren't broken. LOL

Nice voltage.. keeping the heat down. Once I mod the pump I hope to run some cooler temps. What sucks is it gets hot here being that the computer room is in the loft. It gets toasty warm up here in the afternoon and into the night. Florida sucks. At least the hurricane on my doorstep will keep things cooler for the next few days. I may not have a place to live if the roof is ripped off though. hehe

HeyHo Guys!
I have this RAM, too, but i dont know which Settings i must choose... I have a DFI LanParty SLI DR Board and a 4400X2 CPU.
Which Bios is the best?
The only settings i have are 3-4-4-8 in the Bios, the rest is auto. I want to know the best settings for 250 Mhz.. for Maximum performance... and how can i let them run with 275 Mhz or more? Somebody ideas?

in your case, i'd say yes.

mine seems pretty stable at 250 with stock timings, but i really can't go much higher. this ram has been pretty dissapointing thus far. plus i've read other people not being OC much with these :(

That's just funny to me. 250 is what they are rated at so why wouldn't it be stable?

I had some time to test this kit with my new DFI UT SLI-DR with the 704tba bios and @250 with 3-4-4-8 and 2.6v I could pass memtest in dos easily but i used memtest for windows and i got errors... i then started to wonder if this was heat related.. i touched the sticks and of course they were hot as hell.

I adjusted voltage to 2.5v in the bios and 250 is now stable... memtest(windows & dos) superpi and im about to test 3d. If i cant get 3d stable its going back in the am tomorrow. I can tell the ram has potential guess i just got a bad kit. Id be happy with 250-260 I suggest you guys with problems go lower on the voltage.

I lowered mine as well to 2.5V and it runs hella cool now! Then again at 2.6V it did not feel warm to the touch at all. I was benching my new ATI card last night and was playing for about two hours and not so much as a hiccup from the memory. You all may want to take JCGhz's lead and try this for yourself. :) Thanks for the heads up man, I would have never thought of undervolting them as mine runs stable and cool at stock voltages.

Hey G.S Technician:

Since Newegg is out of stock of the 2GB HZ sets, is there any reason for me to not just get 2 single 1GB HZ modules in regards to warranty/support? They should run just as good in dual-channel and have just as good of a chance at overclocking performance as the 2GB sets, correct?

TheMeatFrog
11-02-2005, 01:10 PM
The only thing wrong with buying two separate 1GB sticks is your OC may suffer. Reason is since dual channel kits are "supposed" to be two identically matched sticks they will perform very similar in terms of voltage response and subtimings. If you have two random sticks one might perform better at 2.6v and the other at say 2.8v, hence your max OC would suffer. I would wait or find some place else for a dual channel kit, but that's just me. ;)

I don't think this is true. I bet 45 cookies that RAM vendors only do the dual-channel test at stocks speeds.

And we have seen reports of modules from the same dual-channel kit behaving differently right above stock.

Well time to put in my :2cents:.

I just received my Gskill ram a couple days ago and have been playing with different setting prior to finding this post. I bounced around the DFi forums and they suggested the 704-2bt bios for this ram since it's the best all around bios.

Anyway I was playing around with setting like 2.5-3-3-7 and so on able to run windows without any problems. As long as my CPU wasn't overclocked past 250 I was able to pass 32mb Superpi. If I start to bump of the CPU then it's back to 3-4-4-8. I played around with the 166 divider at 9x317 and was able to post a 27m10sec superpi 32mb score. Tomorrow I will be trying to get this stuff a little higher 1:1. I know my CPU has the balls to do 2.85 and beyond, it's just trying to find the sweet spot for the ram. The closer to 1:1 the better.

Anyhow for those having problems with the ram. You really can't beat its potential seeing as how I just sold my OCZ PC3200 Platinum sticks that wouldn't go past 213. This stuff at least has a little more playing room for less money.

Give that 270*9 1/01 LDT 3 a shot. I have mine at 2.5V but 2.6V was what I benched it at without problems. I did get as high as 280*9 1/01 but then I was adding more volts to the CPU etc which was something I am not too keen on. I prefer lower MHZ and less heat over higher MHZ and more heat. That is just me though. :) Also I kept the settings at 3-4-8-4, everything else on auto.

Hi guys.
I got a coupple of these sticks just yesterday, and I've playing with them for a while. First of all, I've noticed that they can't overclock more with more voltage, actually, I got worse frequency on them at more than 2.6V.

Well, the max I got was this, but wasn't SuperPi 32M stable.

And well, this is the config I will use 24/7.
This pic is with a San Diego, but I'll put them in my Athlon X2 3800+.
I'll set it at 320*10 (vapochill :D ), and will set a 166 devider, so they'll run at 266Mhz, at the following timmings.

Hi
That is a bit of a problem, my cpu have a Max at 2920Mhz, so i have to loosen my timings to get 308FSB, and then the next step is 8x365 to max my cpu out. And that i don´t think the ram can do that ...or?

OK I take back my previous comment... I just did a pc overhall adding a GPU waterblock, Video vmod, an active cooling on my ram and PWMIC. So I figured I would check and see if there was an improvement with the ram and I guess I didn't have enough air flow over the ram before. Still testing but now I'm able to at least get 1:1 up to 270. Try and go 275 and I get a system corruption error. So I'm going to settle with a divider for now. Wish I could figure it our so I could try for 285.

Try lowering the V on the ram. I am down to 2.5 and I am still able to hit 280 @ 1/01. Otherwise our voltages are more or less the same. I will take a screen for you when I get home. My chipset temp is lower though. Try modding the chipset fan, it makes a noticeable difference, that may do the trick for you.

lusonico

Did anyone tried to peek sideways on the sticks? There is almost no contact beteween the thermal tape and the chips, i would say a 1/4 of contact surface. Just look at them against a light or white wall. I still don't have my system running but i don't know if i should remove the heatspreaders. Maybe after i verify if they can function just in case i need the warranty. I think for people trying to overclocking them to the max, pointing a fan with the heatspreaders on the sticks has limited impact.

Maybe not at stock speeds... But you surely have noticed The thermal tape doesn't even cover half of the chips, maybe a third... The heatsink acts more like a cage in that matter... I can see the gap beteween the aluminium and the chips.

If DemonR6 is getting 285 on the ram with the heatspreaders on, i wonder how far it would go with a fan directly on the chips? I'll try that sooner or later. I just have to put my rig together first.

demonR6

Good question.. I have to tear down later this week when my new processor arrives so I will take advantage of that and give them a closer inspection. Honestly though, mine do not run hot. I can tell you at 2.5V they don't really feel warm to the touch. I have checked on occasion as I am really big on having my components run cool. Although I do not have a fan blowing on the ram directly, I have a CM Stacker case with the crossflow fan so there is some air being blown on them.. pics included.

If you are not familiar with the set up on a CM Stacker, the crossflow fan is the black object that runs the length of the motherboard just to the right of the motherboard. It takes outside air and blows it over the components. I normally run the fan on medium speed, this has proven to give me a 2~4c drop in temps on the PWMIC.. the chipset has its own cooling so there is not drop in temps there that I have noticed when checking MBM5 or Smartguardian. I am sure the ram benefits some as air is being blown over them but I really do not monitor ram temps as I am undervolting them as it is plus I have not noticed they get warm.

I can tell you at 2.5V they don't really feel warm to the touch

Perhaps because you're not really feeling them but the aluminium heatspreader that is not touching the RAM chip because it only has a stripe of tape (2mm wide) on the lower part of the stick near the slot edge. If your sticks are equal to mine (since their are the same product) you'll see (without removing nothing but the stick from the motherboard), that the there is almost no contact with them. Now that i'm thinking, even the thermal probes that come with my case fit in there!!!, i can (eventually) test the temperatures (the real temperatures, not the temperature of the aluminium heatspreaders that do not make contact with the chips!!)

Just see it for yourself, it's easy.
The sticks dimensions are thickness, width and length (you problably figured by now i'm struggling to express in a language that is not my own)

look by the side that the gets secured by those clippers on the motherboard ram slots, while pointing them at a wall or light.

PS: I look at your case setting and i envy you, i want to put a 120mm fan on top of the ram, if you consider the cpu cooler i have it's IMPOSSIBLE, you on the other way, only have that neat water block, you could put a fan directly over the ram, instead of relying just on the mild airflow that you fan makes by blowing air inside the case as a hole.

what i want to try is to have no intake fans, just fans driectly over the components and direct vent to the ouside, thiis alone would create lack of pressure inside the case making air entering by the holes in other places. This way i have the air pressure directly over the components. I don't know if i sound clear.
Sorry if this hijacks the thread about Gsksill PC4000 Hz... It was dormant anyway :D

PS2: I've noted your using a Beta Bios, I'm still deciding what Bios will i use. The 623-3 or the 704-2BT. I've seen people not doing very well mixing the 704-2BT and gskill memories ,BSODs and stuff. Still figuring it out. You seem have the highest overclock using it tought.

GSKILL TECH

I need to clear on the "Tape" thing!!!
cover 1/3, 1/2 or full cover, more coverage will result worse temp increase. we test direct from chip not from heatspreader. when IC cover 1/3, it still have so air direct flow through between IC and heatspreader. that is the best we can do with heatspreader. full cover and 1/3 or 1/5 or even 1/10 is "same price" for our cost! like the heatspreader, the cost of that is very very low but why we need it? it is for the "eyes candy". G.skill always does temp test before we give out our product. that why we were the only company didn't use heatspreader for TCCD such expensive IC.

After all the issues with my last modules I wasnt expecting such immediate results..booted first time with the N4D702-3 (oskar wu beta) bios! I ran some early tests and found it was stable@200x11. Upping the fsb to 250 need some adjustments though. In the bios I had to set the dram signal strength to 1, and the read preamble to 5. This was then tested in memtest, test 5 and looped with no errors for half an hour. Upping the fsb even more I hit a ceiling at 285!!! At this point I found out the these modules actually like more voltage, I got 100+ errors in memtest test 5 @2.5v, but at 2.75v I got only 10. Id like to say at this point that the modules dont really get hot just barely warm to the touch, even with more volts. 285 was not stable though and after much testing Ive settled on 271x10 @2.75v 3.4.4.8. Ive tried to get the TRCD and TRP to 3 but its a no go, as is the CAS to 2.5, but that would only be useful at 200 or 250, not max oc. The settings Ive found that effected the stability the most where voltage, TREF, Read Preamble and Drive strength. Ive seen people get to 280+ with just 2.5v but mine dont like that.
Im amazed at the difference between these and my old corsair dimms, not only do they do a higher fsb but theyre alot easier to tweak - and of course theyre twice the capacity!

^^ Nice work, are you running that at 1/01 1T or are you using a divider? I just received my 3500+ so if I can reach 280 like I did before on the x11.. I would be breaching 3000 with that CPU. I have my fingers crossed that the memory controller on this chip is as good as the 3000+ I just retired.

So far, with the new CPU I have reached 245*11 without any changes to the memory settings other than setting it to 1/01 CPC Enable and 3-4-8-4.. also I lowered them to 2.5V. I tried for 250 this morning before heading off to work but it did not boot, I am also running at stock voltage on the CPU so I am sure I need to raise that to compensate for the higher OC. I will post results of course as I get them.

My G.Skill loves my DFI NF4 Ultra-D and the beta bios. I don't know why some people would have had problems with that bios? I thought it was optimized for OCZ ram that was UCCC based.. odd.

yes theyre 1:1 and 1T. Its only taken around 6 hours to get them to max oc, wheras my old corsair dimms took over 2 weeks! much easier to tweak.

Okay guys, maybe someone can enlighten me.. system specs in signature. I just installed a 3500+ Venice Rev. E that I picked up from a firend of mine. The processor was doing 255*11 (2805) happily in his system. The notion I had in my head is.. oky, my 3000+ Venice Rev. E is able to run all day at 285*9 without breaking a sweat so this should be cake to get it to run with this new processor.

I got the processor, set the bios more or less the same as my 3000+ and I cannot seem to break 230*11.. I can boot at 235 & 240 but I lock up or BSOD within minutes.. I have even gone to the length of raising the VDIMM to 2.6 & 2.7 but no joy. Is it possible that the x11 multi is the culprit?? I don't mind lowering the multi to get a higher FSB and overclock the processor. I am not saavy on how this memory (or any other for that matter) reacts to the multi.

I did also try a divider to get a higher FSB but that was a catastrophe as well. The first thing I did was lower the HTT to 2.5, set the multi to x11 and set my ram to 100 to try and find my max CPU and it choked around the 230 mark. Again, I first hand witnessed this CPU hit 2800 on another box with the same mobo.

Stumped and need suggestions.

Thanks!

try lowering to 9x with the memory on a divider, you wont lose anything not having it 1:1. and 3xhtt is better up to 335

demonR6
12-09-2005, 07:52 AM
Exactly what I plan on doing next since I know that is a set up that I can replicate.. This leads me back to my question though that maybe G.Skill Tech can possibly answer.. does the x11 interact with the ram in a way that causes it to perform differently than a x9?

GSKILL TECH
12-09-2005, 09:45 AM
ar...is there 11x on 3000+

anyways, the mulit is actually like sine wave, and control by mobo. the bios will tells the wave need to be weak or strong in able to make it work. it is nothignt to do with ram and cpu. this multi is actually the job for bios/mobo

demonR6
12-09-2005, 09:59 AM
No, 3000+ is locked, no higher than 9x. I will try the 9x multi and some different FSBs when I get home. What gets me is that I know that ram was at 285*9 and ran flawlessely, on the same token I know that CPU was at 2800 so I need to come to a happy medium. I stand by this memory and really don't want to change to another brand especially when I know it can perform.

I have my hands full today as I leave for a cruise and will not return until the next Sunday.. this will be eating away at me all cruise long if I cannot get this worked out. LOL

demonR6
12-09-2005, 09:07 PM
On the 9x multi I am now at 290 with the 180 divider. I tried 10x and no go, and 11x is definitely out of the question. I am stumped.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me some nice memorysettings for this kit?

For the moment I run 3-3-3-8 1T 246fsb. Vdimm: 2,66V
I tryed 3-4-4-8 1T 270fsb but that result in clear CMOS!

All memsettings are set to auto exept for 1T and 3-3-8-3.

System in sign.

My goal is ~270x9. My cpu dont like more than 246fsb with less voltage and I use stockcooling!?

Thanks...

Update: currently at 300*9 w/ 2.7V. No BSODs or silly lock ups yet. Running on a 180 divider.. 3-4-8-4.. everything else is stock. Once again, I tried at x11 and no luck.. x10 is immediate no go no matter what FSB I use.

Now I have managed to run 273x9 stable and are rather happy.

My settings: 3-4-8-4 1T, Vdimm ~2.6V the rest is auto.
How can I tweak my settings to raise fsb??
My cpu liked x9 more than x10!?

I just got a set of this in the mail, but am running into some problems with my Ultra-D. One of the sticks works fine, but when I have the other stick in, either in tandem with the first stick, or by itself in slots 1 or 2, the board fails to boot. I get a long beep, and three of the red diagnostic LEDs stay on, and the fourth blinks. In fact, it is the same problem as this guy has here:

http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33571

Can I conclude that I have one bad stick, or is there some other solution? If it is a BIOS issue, which BIOS would you guys recommend? Thanks!

Just got my 2gbhz today, put them in (orange slots) after a bios reset, and no post. Took one out and left the other in the top orange slot, posted fine.

Took the one out that posted and put the other in by itself and no post.

So i tried several lengthy bios resets with just the suspect stick in and still nothing.

I tried ever mem slot on the mobo, nothing.

Put my Mushkin back in without a bios reset and posted first time.

All this with the 623-3 and 623-2 bios's

Not to terribly impressed with gskill so far being my first time using thier stuff. Arent modules tested before they leave the factory to avoid DOA memory.

I have just sold my G-Skill Extreme 2GB HZ PC4000, and got a pair of Crucial Ballistix 2GB PC4000. And what diffrence. Before 305Mhz 3-4-3-8 T1 and that danm 180 divider at 2.6v, now 305 3-3-3-8T1 and 1:1 at 2.9v. And i´m sure that if i wanted, 310 is possible.

Watch the voltage to those Ballistix, alot of failures running more than 2.8v, they don't fail right away, but more so over 2 months or so of use. The HZ have been treating me great, and seem to be more cpu/mem controller sensitive than some of my other memory sticks and they run nice and cool.

There is no indication that the "bad batch" we have seen on Ballistix was caused by overvolting.

Not that this is a ballistix thread :)

I just got this set about a week ago. I am only able to do 255Mhz @ 3-4-4-8 at 2.7V on a nF4 Ultra D. I've upped the Voltage with no luck. Tried coping some of your setting from first page just to hit 260Mhz. Memtest #5 always seems to Fail. I'm running it at 1/01 Ratio. I already Tested CPU and it can hit 3Ghz so I know it isn't that. Any suggestions? Do I need to Put Active cooling on them?

EDIT:: Also how bout if SuperPI and OCCT pass and Prime passes after about 8 hours or so? Would that be Stable even if I get errors in memtest?

Maybe they are not from the newest batch that came out of newegg and did so well.

Well right after I purchased Mine they were out of stock for acouple days. So I'm guessing I should have got a good batch, but maybe they go through them quicker than we think. I tried your settings and I used them in A64Tweaker and it corrupted my Windows so I had to reinstall. lol. I just tested and got through 5 passes of Test#5 on memtest at 3-4-4-9. And I changed acouple settings like you had. After I passed 5x's I just moved up to 265 and testing now. I guess I'll just keep messing with them. Do any of you have Fans blowing directly on memory?

Why? Mainboard limit with this ram ?? Bios problem? or memtest not run correctly with this chipset o mainboard?
