Well water cooling ram has always interrested me an I have always though that there was a abetter way than what i have seen so i came up with my own design to be used with chilled water. With chilled water the top will be copper unless someone knows of a clear low temp plastic as insulation wont be used because I am making a nitrogen sealed box so that you can see the block and all.

There is another block for the back side and the last two screw holes screw them together and the notches in the back ar to go over the locking tabs.

nice idea but cooling ram dosent have any real benifit iirc, gunna be cool tho!

It does when chilled water is used. Obviously even ambient water cooling is superior to air, it's just that it's been so insignificant that it never warrants the expense. However, with a homemade chilled water setup, you can't really go wrong. Nice work.

IYP,

When I feed my ram lot's of voltage it gets real hot and will limit my OC, but if I point a fan onto the direction of the ram, my results become better -- because the ram will be cooler.

Nice work FireDragon,
i'm working on some ram waterblocks as well, will come up with latest designs when i've the time.

RAM cooling DOES help overclock/stability when ram gets warm/hot... i've noticed even 5-6fsb's more just by adding a fan on top of the mem... with proper cooling all over the memory module IC's it could probably be 1-3fsb's on top of air-cooling maybe.

from my (fairly unscientific) freeze spray testing I gained nothing from cooling ram sub zero.
But that was ages aggo on pc2100 (at 3.3v though)

Some ram might benefit a little, but probably not IMO.

Will look cool though, good luck.

Cool- :toast: :woot:
Design a bit over-kill, would have to be very thin to fit. :fact:
MY, design is an easy to do NOT requiring any machine shop type work! :fact:
Check the pic's :stick: :slap:
Still working on a clamping system using springs from "Bic" lighters.
Take one apart, after its used up. The flint is huge and the number of springs, WOW. :fact:

IIRC, someone did DI or LN2 or something like that on some BH-5 and gained ~10 MHz. not worth it in my book.

Watercooling the ram nowadays would be nice, I don't know if it's gonna be any more effective than a 120mm fan though. The problem is, most ram watercool designs I've seen look ugly and bulky, not sure it's even possible to slim it up and look nice without going to those lame 3/8 tube sizes.

It will be with -40 deg c water so there will be a benifit if only able to run higer voltage...hoping to break 300fsb on utt with my normal 1.5 cas and so on my sticks are good to 265 with 3.3 volts

those look pretty good but my goal is low restriction that is why they are 1/2 barbs they are going in a DFI NF4 so space really isnt to big of an issue in the yellow slots...but looking good...also i made my mount so i dont need springs or anything like that just screws to pinch the two ends.

Dragon-
When you get to something mounted on a board, post a pic.
The room is very thin.
I'm close but not mounted yet.
Using a blood pressure gauge, I can't see any "flow" loss.
Ram and chipset then psu on a seperate loop.

Should be very nice, please post pics when done! :toast:

i mean below that...its really not worth it....but enjoy has a point

well when over 4 volts stuff gets hot quick specilly with UTT at tight timmings the chilled water is to run higher volts and keep it cool who knows it may be like cpu's with utt well i will find out here some time...
