Offcourse this would happen, nowhere it says nForce 4 is 939 only.

Except for dual channel the 939 and 754 CPUs are the same so all motherboards for 939 can be fitted with a 754 socket and all 754 mobos can be fitted with a 939 socket (in theory).

If you bought a 3400+ before 939 was available or within your price limits you can now still get excellent performance with this setup. So no need to upgrade your CPU.

Also think about a Turion chip in there and clocking the hell out of it... very nice indeed

no turion no good overclockers the chips are meant to be the same speed as a64's but the way they are made they use 30% less power unfortunately that effects the o/c but a newark (i think) would be a good mobile or get a sempron those are venice based (newer ones are)

This is good news for those of us with newarks who might want to get a faster graphics card in the future.

But I wont be upgrading yet, x800ctpe is plenty quick enough

What is the point of making s754 SLI board? People who can afford 2 video cards for SLI can sure afford s939 board. Besides new 0.09 s754 cpus are only semprons as far as I know and semprons are budget cpus unlike SLI setup.

Nope,

I might upgrade to the SLI board, if it's a good OC'er. DFI has a single slot PCI express board that might be better suited for my needs. Thanks for the link :)

EDIT: I'm sorry, but that is the poorest placement of the 24-Pin and 4-Pin ATX ports on the motherboard. They should have put it down by the IDE ports.
