hmmm. very nice block. you know... this would make an excellent GPU block...

TDX meets Nexxos Xp.

I don't see any connection to the Nexxos XP at all

Anyway nice block, nicely crafted although acrylic tops are not my favorite. Is the black top a brass one, or is it painted acrylic?

nice block, but it still looses to the storm so i dont see the point..

but congrats to that fellow for a well made and designed block.

who cares if a storm is a be-all end-all. A custom-made block is FAR more impressive than a mass-produced one.

Isn't the storm also a home-made block? Or if not totally home-made, it's still researched and developed by an enthusiast and not by a huge manufacturer. So I really don't see the difference? Let's say I make my own waterblock and it outperforms anything out there. The second I choose to massproduce it, will it be less impressive then?

Looks very good to me, I'd like a Delrin top and maybe a GPU version :D

How about a price?

Noldor--the G4 Storm is now mass produced by Switftech.

it's alot more impressive to spend hours over a drillpress/dremel/homemade mill than it is to do this stuff proffesionally and then retail a produc (not that cathar makes profit). a one-of-a-kind is a one-of-a-kind, regardless of its performance. However, I still love you cathar for your godly blocks :)
Its just that cathar's blocks are so proffesional, they don't have that good homebrew feeling ;)

its lower restriction then G4 and only loses by about 0.4C most of the time. Awesome waterblock.

I hope I can test it very soon... :toast:

The base is beautiful, and the block seems to be very actractive even in performance.

reminds of me of the TDX

That loo0ks real nice...that looks like it could be turned into a lower profile design for vid cards...and even sli if the water came right across the fins from inlet then out the right hand side

Very sexy block, fantastic craftsmanship. Looks like a nice high flow, high performance solution for those who can't afford a storm. Looks like an improved TDX to me, which is a good thing.

Holy words guy....

Nice work on the base...but it looks to much similar to tdx for me...I don't see the revolution .....only a improvement...imho...

I'd like to see a proper test done by someone other than the maker.

But if the data I get from that thread is correct, then it's a fine design.

As others already posted, I'd love to see a GPU version. It's time & past time for someone to displace the Maze4 & Fusion blocks as the 2 performance options for GPU's. Flow is kept very turbulent as it passes over the die area of the block. Also does not look overly restictive.

well... no one has tested the new aquaxtreme GPU block, now have they?

True, but then it's very like the Fusion, pins instead of fins/channels, but I can't see that making a major differance.

What I'm lookin for is a design that would drop GPU temps by 3-4c, not 1c.

Not knocking the M-1, just don't believe it can offer that sort of improvement. And I won't pay for a new block for 1c. Also pin type blocks often offer a fairly high pressure drop, though they also cool well.
