How to test your HD for bad sector's

Like it say's,i need a prog or something to test a ide Maxtor 160gb 8mb hd that i have here(its my son's hd),i suspect that it has bad sectors,it say'd so wen it give the error.

Enybody know of such a prog to check a 160gb hd for bad sector's,i will hang it as slave in my rig.
