Hi All,

The other day I used a Fry's Electronics store credit towares purchase of Enermax 600W (EG701AX). The thing is after reading some reviews, now I am torn between this and OCZ PowerStream 600W. I don't think they ever had OCZ stocked,(but I did notice the avaiability of S12-600).

Please help me choose the right one (for my upcoming AMD gaming PC project):

DFI nF4 SLI-DR
2GB RAM
7800 GTX

I don't ussually recommend the Enermax's because of seeing them droop in the face of heavy CPU load. I do not recommend the OCZ Powerstream 600w because the 520w is a more capapble PSU and is much cheaper.

Have you got a link?

I've been using that enermax since June currently with DFI NF sli, 7800GTX and 4 Harddrives and have noticed no issues with voltage droop. 12V drops from 12.3 to 12.17 under max load but that is well within spec and hasn't apparently caused stability issues.

Did you measure with a DVM/DMM?

Ok I went and reopened my case for you're benefit ;) 12v as measured by DMM varies from ~12.32V idle to ~12.26V full load. 0.5% to 1% just doesn't seem anything to worry about

i have an antec neopower with over 420 watts load, and its only ogt a .02- .03 droop under full load..

sin: I lose almost that much when my 7800GTX kicks in to 3d mode. The reason I don't tend to worry is the fluxuation isn't random. It appears specific to and consistent with the operation of particular components. ie when everything is going full bore it shows 12.17 (12.26 DMM) and it does not change from this value while under these conditions. Actually I'm fairly sure it does change but without an O-scope I can't measure it.

dave: heh heh you're right 0.05% I'm getting old.
