Before 2005 Ultra X Connects were decent now they're pretty much trash, about the same level with Aspire. For $30 then keep it, it'll better than your generic.

Do you mean if it was MADE before 2005, or that now, in 2005 the other power supplies are superior to it?

They mean that the company used to make decent power supplies. However, currently they are not as good as they were before. Get it?

The Box doesn't mean anything, example my A64 is a week 23 of 2005 yet on the box it says 2004 Advanced Micro Devices.....................

What they are trying to tell you, is with todays demanding hardware, the Ultra-X 500w PSU is not going to handle it very well. The PSU is about low/middle of the pack when it comes to quality PSU's. Hence why they're selling it for only for $30

ill take it off your hands.

lol... its ok, i can use it ;)

I;m not sure whats the amps/rail on this one, but 500w sounds nicer than 340w, and i like the idea of modstream (connecting each cable to the psu to avoid clogging)

Why do most people look dwon on modstream, like even the ocz modstream?

and this psu is still $60+ online

Ultra PSU's suck, they are junk, that being true, there are worse one's out there.
I wouldn't trust in in more than a print-server, but it sure beats a 580W, $16 PowMax! :toast:
