Well I'm planning on buying a new system around XMAS time, maybe its too early to piece together my parts but i could always change them a little when i get closer to buying it. Heres what i have so far

Monitor: Some LCD

Speakers: Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speaker - Retail - $267.00

Mouse: Razer Copperhead - $???

Cooling: chilly1 phase change unit - $????

Now would it be wise to go with the dual core or maybe go with the 660 with HT? This rig will mainly be used for movies, dvd ripping, lots of multitasking and the occasional game here and there. Im going with Intel because thats what i want, please dont recommend something else. Also i might switch the mobo later when a crossfire enabled board comes out.

if your going to be doing LOTs of multitaksing like u say you are then a dual core would be your best bet

On the P5WD2 you don't need the Creative card...
The realtec AC882 onboard is really amazing compared to the 850 and others used on different boards... When in doubt, use the digital output...
--> only disadvantage is that the digital input is not available atm,
so if you need that, you need the Creative...

And i660 is fine (I've got one myself) but maybe by Christmas the 840EE will be at a nicer price... That would give you 2xcore and 2xHT :eek2:

Don't know about the patriot ram, since I've never used 2Gig on Intel...

But I like the system you will be building, I tried Winnies 3000+ and 3500+ and finally an X2 4200+ but now I'm back to the "old" i660 and that 955-chipset really makes a difference. I only have one rig at home, so I want it to "work" all the time...
