I kind of understand the process of Dry Ice, I know I can't run DICE 24/7 but that’s not a problem, (I just want to oc a lot) would it cost cheaper than cascade? about how much will it cost? what precautions should I take? I live in AZ(USA), thx for help!

Well, cascade would give you better temps, but yes it would be a WHOLE lot cheaper than a cascade.. a completely different ballpark
The "Big Boy" containers, with custom designs and some amazing CNC work will cost you from $200-$300 new, you can find used ones of these models for around the $100 range sometimes
I pay about $1.50 a pound for dry ice from the dealer here, but im still trying to find a grocery store that carries some, cause they're usually very cheap
The only real caution I guess would be lots of condensation, a little bit is ok, you just have to watch it carefully, also be careful that acetone likes to bubble when the CPU/GPU(whatever the tube is on) goes under heavy load

so it would cost less then 200$(USD)?

With so many dice tubes out and avail I am really surprised anyone would consider even attempting something like this with the good possibility of destroying HW. :slap: :nono:

Just brazing a plat to the bottom of the pipe would work and can be done for under $50 more like $30 or so. I had one but it's already spoken for that I am selling for 40. Machining a solid tube will be well over 100 so look into the pipe brazing first. With the picture shown I see the can and the heatsink expanding and contracting at differant rates and would more than likely wear a hole in the bottom possibley spilling acetone and di all over your rig. :nono:

OMG!!! I was amost gonna do it for my p4 rig today...ROFL, Dammit, I need a cheap contanner that's server me a couple of years, can't I just go to HomeDepot and buy a wide pipe, then send it so they can blaze plat?

I am not saying don't do it but IMO it is just not a good idea. Home depot normally doesn't have wide enough pipe look for a local plumbing supply house. ;)

I get paranoid as hell with a regular dry ice tube bubbling or leaking or anything really

Your gonna put a popcan and some ghetto block on your computer?

That thing is pretty extreme... extremely stupid

Buy what? An already made container? Those won't fit your budget if you need something under $70.

Do what has already been mentioned. Go to HomeDepot, buy some copper pipe & flat copper stock, cut it and then solder the base on.

^^^Does Home Depot sell flat copper stock? I need some and don't feel like paying shipping from online metals.

Why don't you just buy one from Jason? Harleybro also has one for sale. I am sure that'd be alot easier.
