View Full Version : OCZ 550W Powersupply ?
I´ve got this PSU sinnce half a year now.. i quite like it, @ 100 load it´s a bit load but the performance is ok.. but i never read anything about this PSU.. i got it from a friend quite cheap and he said it´s an early modstream revision.. it has got one 120mm fan in it.. does maybe some of guys now exactly what PSU this is?

I am afraid that is an outright fake.
Can you read German? spiegel.de just had an article about fake computer parts yesterday.
i don´t think so because the performance is very good so far.... everything runs perfect never had any problem with this power supply and yes i can speek german :D

It looks like someone just put an ocz sticker on it. Those 12v rail amps seem low for an ocz too.
btw i just looked @ www.spiegel.de and i didn´t found any article about fake computerparts.. i also haven´t ever heard something about that just about fake software...

Try peeling the ocz sticker up a bit and see if there is another name underneath.
It looks like someone just put an ocz sticker on it. Those 12v rail amps seem low for an ocz too.
But 40 amps on the 5V rail.. btw this powersupply was bought at a normal computerstore in austria like newegg in america.. so i don´t think it´s fake.. but as far i have no problems and everythings works perfect i don´t really care i just thought someone of you maybe knows this powersuply
there is a transparent film over it like on the most logo @ power supplys can´t get it down without destroying it ;<

If it works and you got it cheap then thats excellent. Just seems wierd cause ive never heard of an ocz 550w psu.

Looks fake to me, doesnt seem to even have a UL number.
On the anandtech forums there is an official OCZ support thread with an OCZ employee answering questions. He will be able to tell you whether this thing is just old or fake.

We've never released a 550W PSU, nor would we ever have a tacky sticker like that on our PSUs heh.
I'm glad that it does work fine though. Would you mind PMing me the store from which you bought this PSU?

already talked to andy.. the problem is i don´t know the store where this PSU came from because i´ve got it from a friend.. will talk to him next week

I figured it was fake. Your buddy and you should go back to that store and threaten to sue them or report them to the authorities and maybe you can get some more fake parts :p: I wonder if they have a a64 3600+ with a 2mb cache.

As weird as it seems there is such thing as A64 3600 but it has 1mb cache.
