On my system, I currently have a dual core cpu + 2 X 7800gt using Antec 550 Trupower with PCI-E.
But In the future, I am gong to put in dangerden WC and maybe 4DIMMS. the PSU is not going to be enough right?
I can use an extra PSU in my CM Stacker case or just get a new one... but it's more cost efficient to just use another PSU...

Get a turbo-cool 510 or a ocz powerstream 600W if you want.

unless you want to be totally ridiculous and get a 850SSI.

Get one of those or an OCZ 520 PowerStream and keep the Antec PSU for your fans, WC setup.

Ehh Dual PSU's is too....hard, annoying, and can cause problems.

I reccomend either the PCP&C 510w (If your willing to spend $250) or the Enermax Noisetaker 600w, which is certified by nVidia for SLi...etc.

Read some reviews on the net, about that Noisetaker. I think you'll like it :).

Any reason why dual PSU is annoying?

Either solder your PSU-ON (green) to the main PSU, or do what i did wihch is cut the ATX connector of the secondary PSU. Save PSU_ON(green) and one Black (GND) wire, solder them to a switch and also unsolder all other unused wires from the ATX connector. Mount your switch right next to your main switch which turns on your computer, or mount it in a drive bay. Or you can try wiring it together with your main "on" button in your computer.

I did this to bring an used Antec True 480W to some actual use. I hate having things that are working that just lie around and rot away/lose their value.

You can even buy one of those ATX dual PSU connector adapter things. I know nothing specific about them.

The Antec should have about 30A, or 32A+ on the 12v rail.

dual rails 19amps on each.

the truepower2's are fairly stable but if you have a lot of components like HDDs and opticals with lots of others in the setup, you'll need something more powerful. the truepowers are over-rated on the spec sheet, just so you know. my truepower2 480W powers my system just fine and i have that same pump, but it all depends on what you're powering.

I think the TruePower will power it all just fine :).

buy the OCZ...

dito .. its really enough power .. so no need for an 550+ PSU

Yep, good choice!
BTW Now i use Antec TP 550w, but got a slower system...

OK.. so you are saying that one PSU (Antec TS 550) is good enough for WC / 4 dimms/ 2 video cards? If so, I will save myself the extra cash...

As i said it depends on your +12v amperage.

Seasonic S12 600w, passed tomshardware testing, plus active PFC is a +. Silence too.

I myself like antec psus, I have a 550 just like yours, however with all that stuff that you plan to run something with 30+ amps on the 12v would be recommended (NickS recommended two very nice options)

Currently, new batches of the Seasonic S12 600w PSU are having issues with the DFI NF4 motherboard. It seems something to do with the overload/overcurrent protection on the PSU and the +5VSB line. Not sure if it's fully related to the +5V vdimm jumper on the DFI. There's a few threads/posts about it on DFI Street, and seems to be why it's not on the "A-List".

It disappoints me, as I was just going to order one today. :(

I believe that your TP II 550W is enough & will be fine,
however if it is not then go to the Zippy 700W with +12V@45A. :toast:

We dont know if he has a TPII or not, so we cant make any recommendations right now

I'm a fan of the Seasonic PSU's, but I've been hearing about "issues" with this particular PSU and the DFI nF4 boards. I read about it a couple times over at dfi-street.com so I'm not positive about the validity of that statement. But since there are options out there that are just as good or better, something like that may make me err to other options.

We dont know if he has a TPII or not, so we cant make any recommendations right nowWell he say's with "PCI-E" so it is either a TP II or the last revision of the TP 1,
in which case it has either +12V@30A or if EPS then +12V@36A. :fact:

Unless of course he is using an adaptor. :slobber:

I do have the TPII with EPS... from MBM, the 12V rail reads 11.95 and 3.3 rail reads 3.22.
there are currently 6 120mm fans on the system + 12V pump + 2 video cards + 4400+ X2 cpu. The voltage on the 12V line and 33 V line was horrible when I was on the TP2 only.
I picked up a cheapie delta 420W to fire on all the fans + WC items. It is a pain to turn on and off the computer since I have to make sure I turn on the delta (WC items) first!!
One day I will make a mistake..

BIOS/MBM are meaningless! :stick: Get a DVM/DMM!
