is it possible to mod memory sticks to increase their voltage without touching the mobo? so to be able to put them in another pc without doing mods to that mobo as well???

I think the SPD chips can specify up to 2.8v, but i think they are not reprogrammable.

From what i understand the SPD uses I2C so you could try to replace the SPD IC with a PIC and implement it that way. But this is hitting like a nail with a sledgehammer...

Adding a resistor to a board is a damn sight easier :D

okay, thanks, onto the mobo mods then!! ! ! !

Not that right .. there is a way to "reprogram" a SPD Chip. But the Boxes wich can do this cost X000 € or $ or what ever .. they arent "cheap" :P

i do a spd programer with a very simple circuit:http://www.lancos.com/e2p/easyI2Cbus.gif
software used:http://www.lancos.com/ppwin95.html

i recover one spd corrupted that cant work with other memory that is good spd, after reprograming, works fine with the twoo mems.you need to remove the spd chip from pcb memory.

but i think uping the voltage in spd cant do more because the limit is the mobo not the spd.

will this work on all diff kind of rams?

I ought to. I also seen an article about SPD chip reprogramming - and this is very cheap .

i dont know, you need to search for the spd chip datasheet.

Ah, I didnt realise they were EEPROM, i just assumed they'd be OTP...

Very impressive Portugal :)

cut open one of your 4-pin connectors and connect them directly to the Vcc and Gnd connections on your RAM

nah dont bother with the 4 pins....go stright from the wall socket :p:

better yet just skip the generators all together and just put gas on your Ram and light em up...:P
