Hi there.
Just built my first decent system from scratch and was after some input on whether my PSU that came with my chosen case is sufficient. I know for SLi systems DFI asks for a 480W PSU but from what i could gather from Giga-byte they recommend a 400W+ system for SLi enabled with a few peripherals.
I am currently running a 40GB 7200rpm IBM HDD (IDE) in addition to the SATA HDD as i made a technical error and didn't instal a FDD so couldn't copy and load the SATA drivers and couldn't install windows. :slapass: I had the old HDD lying around and chucked it in - installed windows and am running the OS off it for now with the 200GB Seagate running off the nvidia SATA plugs.
Was thinking of throwing in a SATA Raptor as OS drive (prolly the 74GB) and keeping the 200GB Seagate for extra storage.
So basically I have two questions for those more knowlegeable than myself.
1. Is the PSU sufficient now and will it be to run system and additional Raptor?
2. Is it better to run the HDD's from the nvidia SATA connectors or from the Sil3114 SATA connectors?

Thanks for any input.

Thermaltake PurePower 430W PSU :nono:

nVidia recommends +12V@26A for non-SLI & +12V@34A for SLI.
Your 6600GT's don't need +12V@34A even in SLI, but +12V@26A is probably necessary.

Try one of these:
