Greetings extremes...
Pardon me for spending your precious time, but please take a moment to check this out...
I've already send this mail to tictac, and looking forward to his answer, but would like to hear your oppinion as well...
The "project" folows (if it had been done earlier I wouldn't use quotes ;) )...
This is the system:
Proc: AMD Athlon M 2600+ *AMD Athlon
AXMG2600FQQ4c Q335742K40417
IQYHA0447APMW 1999*
Mobo: ABIT NF7-S rev 2.0 *Manta Rays XT CPC on*
With Corsair TwinX 4000 (2 * 256 Mb) mobo did fsb 270 perfectly...
Now I have Twinmos Speed Premium 2*512 *new "BH5"* doing fsb 220 @ 2.9 v (2-2-2-11)
Mobo isn't moded in any way and here goes the plan...
Now I'm going to water cooling ( G4 Storm, Denger Den Maze 4 GPU, Black Ice Xtreme III Triple 120mm Radiator, Swiftech MCP655 Pump)...
Mobo should be moded to use 5V rail for vdimm so it can get max from the memory, probably vtt and pencil mode as well... *any suggestions welcome*
The goal is to get cofiguration to run at 280*10...
Memory will be water cooled as well *you can se the solution in the "attachment"* so voltage shouldn't be a problem...

I think that world record in fsb on NF7 is 280+ so it can probably be done as well...
Everything else on mobo will be cooled *mosfet, south bridge, if you suggest I'll get waterblock for north bridge as well*
What troubles me is next...
1. Can TwinMos go as far as 280 at 2-2-2?
2. Since fsb 270 was achieved with Hynih chips, will Manta Rays be equaly good for Winbond or you suggesting some other BIOS?
3. How much Bios effect on voltage needed for achieving high fsb?
4. Any other suggestions on what may go wrong in achieving my goal?

I know you have more important things to do than advicing any guy who addres to you, but I hope I interest you enough to help me...
Anyway thx in advance
Best luck :toast:

hard to say how well your bh5 will go, try it in a 754/939 system if possible.
modding an nf7 to derive vdimm from 5v... that would require you to replace parts of the pcb or built a tiny new pcb and hook that up with your mainboard i think...
id rather go tccd to make sure the memory isnt limiting you if fsb is all you care about, and id rather get a ddr booster than trying to mod the board to derive vdimm from 5v.

Thx you guys for both encouragment and discouragement, but I still think it's possible :D ...
I't would be great to hear something from malves especialy about modding...
Best Luck :toast:
