I have a retail Radeon 8500 128MB running 312/306. I have researched the capacitor mod and have no problems soldering, have done it to Geforce cards many times. My question is if a raise the core and memory voltages to 1.85v and 3.65v adding ramsinks and a good gpu cooler, will I get significant results? The card has Infineon 3.6ns ram chips in the BGA packaging, with the 7006 bios version. I flashed to the 1009 bios and reached 315 for the memory, but it was a 64MB bios and did not recognize the full 128MB of ram, so I flashed back to 7006.

Why dont you do the pencil trick? Also DO NOT put the mem up to 3.65v. I have a Radeon8500le 128mb with BGA ram, not sure of the brand, but stock voltage is 2.8v. Go to rage3d.com for vmod info

Thanks for the tip on the bga voltage. It doesn't matter now though, I just switched to an Asus GF4 Ti4200 128MB @ 300/640

My 8 year old son claimed it and gave me his OEM Radeon 8500 64MB to sell.
