home network

i have sbc yahoo dsl and i just recieved a 2wire dsl router/gateway to share the net with my other pc. i had no problem getting it up and running for sharing the internet but i have no idea how to share files, printers, ect. between the 2 pc's.there is a bunch of files on my old pc i want to transfer to the new one and i dont want to wast the time and money burning disks. this is the first time ive done anything with networking so this is all new to me.

Make sure you have file and print sharing enabled in properties of nic card..then go into properties of folder you want to share on network and enable sharing there...go into my network places or network neighborhood (depending on OS) and you should see the other pc there with the shared folder...just drag and drop or copy and paste:D Of course you would have to have joined the home network first and named your network and machines.
