Ok what I want to do is this, Get a GPU w/b-tec set-up for my radeon 9700 ( I would assume the smart choice would be the Swifty 50-t) and also cool my system chipset with a w/b as well....

cost aside, what would you get ? (i.e. what is the best avail a.t.m.)

I am assuming that I need : the swifty ( of course)
a radiator
a res
tubing
and materials for condensation proofing

What are my options, if any about the chipset cooler to fit on the IT7 Max2 ?

Please help b4 I do something silly like buy the wrong stuff ;)

cheers,
Gamer

Gamer-
I'm using the Swift gpu block (MCW50-T) with a 80w pelt and it works pretty well, the core temp is around 4 c or so...
It's an easy install and it beats using clamps and stuff to hold a huge block/pelt combo onto the vid card. the only thing you would need is a little dielectric grease to insulate around the 9700's gpu area. You don't really need a res, but some people use them. I'm using the new hydor pump, a Ford Escort heater core, and the MCW50-T in my Vapo PE, but I have'nt really found any decent way of monting a chipset cooler to the IT7 Max2 ver2 yet. I don't want to use epoxy, as the board will probably be sold eventually.

Well I was hoping (or planning) to try this, the swifty and for the chipset I was going to use the dangerden chipset cooler. It looks like it should fit (if not I guess I can return it).

I will use a res just for peace of mind and incase I decide to add some ice or something. For a rad I was just going to get the best that Black Ice has to offer and 1 or 2 decent fans strapped to that puppy.

Question: Will there be a problem running the chipset cooler on the same lines as the GPU/tec ?

Question: what should the order be ? res,pump,rad,gpu,nb...(flow direction)

Also what should the liquid be composed of (%water (type),anti freeze ?)

Thanks

You won't need any antifreeze- I'm running straight distilled water with a little water-wetter. As far as flow, i would run res, pump, north bridge, gpu, rad. Every system is different, but I've had a dozen or so H2O systems, and never noticed any benefit from running the radiator after the pump. Instead I got a few degrees cooler from running the radiator last, but that's just me.
You should have no problems running that little 80 watter TECwith the rest of the system.
Also-please let me know when you get that DD chipset cooler mounted to your board- I'm curious as to what you use to attach it....
