What is a decent temp at idle and full load for 2400+

As we speak mine is at 48 degrees. I am using Arctic Silver grease and Volcano 9 at full throttle.

Actually, I think that temp reading is for mobo and not cpu. The mobo temp is pulled from right under the proc as I understand it. My bios has my cpu at 20-30C, not almost 50c. And according to MBM,,,I have a Temp that matches that exactly.

Can anyone confirm that Mobo temp comes from under proc..I read that in another forum not long ago.

I cant believe that my cpu would run at almost 50c with that big fan and heatsink...when its only idling.

It could be, my KD7 gives me core and surface temps in the Bios and my core is 57C when I show 37C Idleing.

I have the same mobo, so make sure you update your bios. I'm on version 1009, as 1010 completely screws your temp readings. And make sure you are running the most recent version of ASUS Probe. And its reading from the in diode sensor. But, even then, I wouldn't trust it too much.

I agree with some of that, but I am getting different temps for every method I use. PC Probe shows a temp, MBM shows a temp, the bios shows a temp, and I have a sensor under the cpu that shows a temp. They are give differing readings.

Until they make chips with built in temp gauges (LMAO), we may never get a solid reading.

Or we could all go to water and pelts and not worry about heat at all.
