View Full Version : I just ordered the BALLISTIX 2x1GB ram, one question?

I just ordered the BALLISTIX 2x1GB PC4000 ram from the EGG. I have a simple question: The post that shows all the OC 2GB kits shows that this ram is pretty good, but all those FSB OC's were all done on DFI boards. I am using a MSI NEO4 PLAT SLi, and I really like this board, but am wondering if my MSI board will scale as high in the FSB as the DFI board? (I got to 300+ FSB with my G.Skill) The ram really only needs 2.85v, so that isn't an issue..... Any one have this ram in an MSI NEO4 PLAT SLi board? Thanks people

i guess it should be ok...
ballistix is...very versatile...just not NF2 or something that old.

assuming your msi board is capable, i don't forsee any issues ;)

its hard to say for sure. DFI is definately the KING.. MSI is no slouch. I Had that same board but never OC'd it. Please let us know how it does & Good Luck!

i guess it should be ok...
ballistix is...very versatile...just not NF2 or something that old.

pretty much..except for some reason people have had more luck with tracers...newer or diff revision of chip? no idea...maybe placebo because they spent more money on it...who knows.

how is this ram with dividers? I owned some ram that REALLY hated when I used dividers.

Well I just got mine and so far i'm at 230fsb 2.5 2 2 2 6 i'm going for low fsb and tight timings.. so if I can go up to 240 or 250 i'll be amazed as they are rated 250 3 4 4 8. So i'm pleased how easy they overclock.. :)
If someone could help me get a screen shot to upload without being to large and too blurry when small I have some shots of it and 32spi stable too.

Its good to see your OCing on a board OTHER than DFI.....

Does anyone know if this ram works well with using dividers? I had some ram before that REALLY hated me for using dividers.
