Hi,

i just got this laptop ...and i dont know what drivers it needs for the videocard ...cuz it doesnt say.

i think its a OK videocard, CPU-z says it uses AGP 4x ...but in windows device manager ...it doesnt know what it is, so i dont know what drivers to install, it really bothers me cuz i get like 2 FPS with everything.

how can i find out what drivers to install?

heres a screenie:

EDIT: for those wondering what kind of laptop it is, its a 'MOKA' laptop (i also dont know this brand) but i got it REAL cheap. its got a P4 2.0A, 512mb RAM.

The first thing to do is figure out the chipset and try the drivers for integrated video that most laptops use....so Sis is a common one that XP does NOT recognize...

Please list all details found on the unit, model number for example

dxdiag only reports what the driver tells it I think. In this case, we need the driver...

thx for the help so far ...ive found a little out myself also:

DXDIAG doesnt show anything ...i mean NOTHING at all.

On top of the notebook is says 'MOKA' and on the sticker on the bottom:

NOTEBOOK COMPUTER
MODEL: 5620P
SN: NC562P2D00460
i dont know if this will help?

in CPU-Z it says its got a i845D chipset. so wot do i try now?

ouw forgot to add this ...i tried this command prompt thing, and it comes up with this

Note the 'ATI Technologies' and the 'AGP' and the '183/250mhz' ...but yesterday i literally tried almost ALL current ATI drivers, and none pick up my graphics card on this thing... i tried the 'notebook with ATI graphics driver' and a LOAD of others ...they all say something like: cant find hardware to support or something.

when the notebook starts up, also nothing about the graphics pops up... it only says 'video VRAM 64mb'

get a knoppix-live-cd and boot. then you will know which driver you need. for ati-mobile-videocards you need special drivers. the normal cats dont work on them.

OKAY i found it ...i just tried to install every ATI mobile driver there is out there ...and trail and error did the trick. after 20 or so installs i found the right driver.

CPU-Z ended up to identify the chipset wrong ...its actually a i845MP (non-intergrated video) and not the i845D

and the graphics card is a ATI 7500 64MB with P4 2.0A, 512mr RAM ...not bad for a $120 laptop i say :D

THX all

not bad, i paid for my 850mhz-p3m-subnotebook 350€ (compaq evo n400c)
but i think yours isnt very small and a p4 in a laptop isnt so great. (but for 120$ )
