the new OCZ's arent presleeved...well my new revision Powerstream wasnt compared to my old revision one.

PCP&C seems the "in" PSU at the moment and for that I voted for it :)

I think they're both great psu's and if money is a factor id get the ocz, if not pcp&c all the way!

I like OCZ's service and support. They've always stood behind their products even in cases where I have doubted the capability of the person using them more than I have the product.

For the record, you should always run "sleeved" if that's what you guys are calling rubbers these days.

sleaving isnt a huge deal... it isnt worth the $100+ extra that the pc power will cost... all looks aside both power supplies perform about the same???

Powerstream 600W, great customer service from OCZ and it's probably a lot cheaper than the PCP&C.

I've voted for the OCZ600, because:
- I'ts cheaper, and c'mon, the performance differences between them, which is marginal, isn't worth the extra $$$.
- If you want to get the same features the OCZ has on the PC P&C, you'll have to pay some serious cash (I'm talking about 100$ for voltage potentiometers).
- I've heard some horror stories about the PC P&C that some inner parts got sooty.
- PC P&C isn't popular here (actually, we don't have a single store stocking it) and importing it from the US will cost an arm & leg

* They both have fabulous costumer support.
* They're both heavy beasts which will last for at least two more full generations.

BUT, if I were for the max power, and money isn't a factor - I would go for the PC P&C 850 albeit it's an overkill.

wait the OCZ600 has serious troubles you can check several threads over here ppl tryong to run sli with those and havind bsod or shutdowns and restarts, also you can check the psu round up of THG not bad round up (not like the one amd vs intel ) and see good psu over there....

i voted for the pc power and cooling 510 i think is a lot better if you want stability

Don't get the OCZ Powerstream 600w. The 520w is a much more capable PSU with its beefier single rail. Also if running a load that would actually require a PSU such as these two the PSU would be a bit loud. Get yourself a Seasonic S12-600. It is incredibly quiet and most likely more then enough for your rig. The only reason to go with anything more powerful is when you get to the mega-12v levels, which I doubt you are at. When you get to those levels the PSUs to look at are the OCZ Powerstream 520, Sparkle FSP550-60PLG and PC P&C 510.

I`m biased towards Large, Single-Rail PSUs. :) PCP+C get a lot of kudos for the stability. Some of the high-end guys swear that PCP+C PSUs let them hit higher clocks at lower voltages.

Was thinking about the Seasonic....

Currently I will be running

ASUS A8N-SLI PREMIUM
3500+
X800XL (NO SLI ATM)
5+HDDS
1OPTICAL

where do hdds draw power from????

IIRC it was the +5v rail

wookie, with that rig you will be fine with soemthing like a Fortron AX500-A. However if you do plan on upgrading to SLI or anything the Seasonic S12-600 is your best choice.

Both the Fortron and Seasonic are pretty quiet. The Seasonic is quieter, but the Fortron is not loud at all.

I would say forget the 600W and the PC P&C, go with the Powerstream 520W. Peaks at 620W, and is extremely stable [3% regulation MAX, IIRC]. Plus it's cheaper than both options that you previously stated, and as someone else said above, it's got a "beefy" single rail that can take a lot of abuse.

have an asus k8v se deluxe mobo and a 9800 pro with 3200+ newcastle on it.
strated the ati tool to overclock the gfx card and BOOM! the power supply was up in smoke! ( let this be a reminder for those who use PSU that come with the case rated at 300W!)
havent had the time to test if the rest of the thing works with another PSU, but im looking for a new PSU now.
what do you guys recomend for the asus k8v? its atx btw.

UglyI've always heard great thing's about PCP&C's service, too....never had to deal with either though.

As for the other part, agreed....early next-morning drives to UnPlanned Parenthood are never fun....

PC P&C very stable units.
if you dont mind a little noise when your comp is running loaded then by all means get the 510 SLI.
The 510SLI is the second unit I have bought from PC P&C for personal use. The other is powering a 3.4EE and has been running 24/7 OC'd to 3.9 with two clients of D2OL.
If you buy high-end components why not feed them with a quality PSU?

The PCP&C Express 510 Express/SLI puts out 34 amps on te 12v rail, this will be more than enough to support any system you can throw at at in the coming years. One word of advice though, you may want to consider the Turbo-Cool 850 ETX offering by PCP&C. The initial cost will be greater than either of the previously mentioned PSUs but it's 85% efficiency (as opposed to the normal 70-72% of other PSUs) will save you plenty of money in the long run.

I voted for the OCZ 600w because I have one and it does everything I ask of it. I also am too cheap to buy a PCP&P. Couldn't see spending that much before I worked for OCZ and my opinion has not changed.

I also voted for it cause I work for OCZ. ;)

Now if you can just get OCZ to lower the price to about $150! :toast:

I have Enermax 465 Watts but my next PSU upgrade is OCZ. :)
