Cooler Installation Question

How much torque do you guys typically use to install a big cooler? How can you tell when enough is enough if you are tightening the screws? How can I make sure I don't crush my CPU with too much torque?

I'm preparing to install a pretty hefty cooler atop my 2400+ and need some advice.

Screw until you hear crunching, scream "$hiiiiiit!!!" and run around your apartment like a little girl, then go to newegg.com and start the whole process again.

Rinse, repeat. lol

lol, I tighten till the springs are fully-compressed w/ my D-Tek Spir@l block :)

It seems rather tight, but I've yet to hear anything crack ;)
