DFI NF4 Ultra DR-SLI W/BIOS 6/23-3
AMD64 4000+ (San Diego)
Thermalright XP-120 CPU HSF
OCZ DDR 500 Gold VX 4000 (512x2)
BFG 7800 GTX OC'ed to 478 / 1330
74 GB WD Raptor SATA
OCz Modstream 520w PSU
NEC 16X DVD Writer
Lian Li PC65B Case
Win XP Home SP2

-------------------

Everything is stock besides the small GPU oc`.

I'm looking to overclock my memory and CPU to good speeds.

The memory to 2-2-2-8 timings and the processor to as high as it can go within reason.

I have updated my bios but need some basic tips.

I have clockgen, but have been told using the BIOS to overclock will give me the best results.

Let me know what you think guys.

Thanks,

Will

yeah just do it in small increments....bios will probably be your best choice but if you use clockgen bump it up 1-2mhz and do a super pi....repeat

I'm not familiar with that program?

I downloaded it, but I am a bit confused as to how to use it.

I'm new to both overclocking and AMD, so keep that in mind. :D

Someone linked me to this:

Which got me even more confused...

The correlation between the memory and cpu has done me in...

I'm looking for someone who can give a good explanation on this if possible, or link me to one.

REad this and that. It should clear some things about O/C on AMD64

Confused by HTT? LDT? FSB? A64??? READ THIS! (http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3846)

Say I wanted to leave my cpu stock, and overclock my ram to 2-2-2-8 @ 3.3v.

How would I go about doing that?

You would lower your CPU multiplier and HTT multiplier and raise the HTT speed. So say you wanted to raise your ram to 240mhz but keep everything else at or near stock speed. You would lower your cpu multi to 10x and lower your HTT multi to 4x then raise the HTT to 240mhz and boot.

Through the bios.
