My hard drive died last night. Now before I hear anything about how I didnt back crap up (Ive already got enough greif at hand) I have quite a bit of important imformation on this drive I NEED recovered. Im assuming its a logical hardware problem due to the SMOOTH chip heating up to hellish temps and the drive not spinning up.
Now my question is, how alike does the other harddrive have to be? Its a Maxtor Diamond Max 9 7200 Ultra ATA thats got 160 gb of storage and was made on the Third of October in 2003. If anyone can find me the same drive anywhere else and give me a link, I would kindly break out my kneepads.
Although theres a 200 gigger of the same model, just SATA and its 200 gb. Could I perhaps swap that logic board with this one?
