This is nothing big my friend, check out hitachi's latest, 500gb and 16mb of cache, this thing has some blistering speed. The only thing i dont like is the price of it $500. Theres a link below to its specs.

500gb Wonder Drive (http://www.hitachigst.com/portal/site/en/?epi_menuItemID=8f07a3c3d3a7a12d92b86b31bac4f0a0&epi_menuID=b5bc67ba7b48099056fb11f0aac4f0a0&epi_baseMenuID=3d0cb215112b6934ab937c27aac4f0a0)

really? I was looking about it about 2 days ago and even send a email asking all the feature it supports, they said that it does.

Guess I just have to look again

I think youre wrong, native command queuing is one of the features listed in Max PC. I know that they are not correct all of the time but i think they would get something like that right. After all if it didnt have NCQ it would be a huge bash against the drive.

It supports ncq. For a fact.

I wonder how it stacks up against 2xT7k250's 250gb's (300's) in raid though.

You'd think that'd be a better deal. Same size overall, sure it's less cache (per drive) but the speed of two of the lesser drives in raid should overpower the single drive, or at least you'd think. Cheaper too overall.

For a single drive though, that T7k500 looks like a monster indeed.

$280 seems nice for a 400GB though it only has 3 year warranty. I believe you can get the 7K500 for around 350ish now with 5 year.

I believe that Seagate is going to release another drive called Barracuda 7200.9. I wonder if it well be any better then the 7K500 because it uses 4 platters while the Hitachi has 5 platters. Wouldn't it make it fast by a tiny bit or the same?

I also got this from Max PC.

sorry my mistake i read the web site of hitachi and they didnt pointed out as the did with the 250gb sataII besides they should change the same from sata II to sata IO so everybody know it real supports 3gbps and ncq

200GB's + HHD's w/ true SATAII 300MB/s + NCQ + 16mb cache are beasts. I would take one over a Raptor anyday. Too bad that the WD HDD above doesn't support SATAII. So I guess I would get Hitachi.

What manufacture do you think is the best?

Does the 400GB WD have twin processors like my 300GB? My mother who works with graphics might want it. :)
