It`s all at Anandtech (http://www.anandtech.com/printarticle.aspx?i=2476) : X2 5000+, FX-59, s939 Opterons and many other.

We haven't updated our AMD roadmap for a few months, in part due to overlapping NDAs and product launches. Unfortunately we are just about to go under NDA for AMD's next low clock X2 processor - but rather than postpone another roadmap we decided to carry on just without that information.
X2 3800+ here we come!

3800+/4000+ X2 :D (As hinted by the writers)

That roadmap looks like one more reason to buy a low-end X2, overclock it xtremely, and snuggle in until the 2007 DDR3 socket. M2 just doesn't look that exciting, even if max DDR2 speeds end up being fairly faster than DDR1. It looks like all the exciting stuff isn't coming until 2007...and by then i'll jump back on the boat with a quad-core 65nm whatever-that-socket-is with DDR3.

I'm sure i'm not the only one that feels this way.

edit: I started writing this, went and ate lunch...came back and posted...and I see that great minds think alike. ^^^ Diltech knows what's up. :)

Hmm. Guess this rig will hold me out till M2. I wonder why there is nothing >2.4GHz single core planned for M2 or >2.6GHz dual core? Seems to me like it would make more sense to have FX59 available for release with M2, but I guess they wanna jump one more processor into 939 for everyone to buy.

3800+ on air/4000+ on wc or better will probably be excellent OC'ers choice, unless that's where the scrap goes that didn't make to any higher bin. Having already received my 4400+, I don't think it will be too bad either.

FX-59 will probably not need the extra bandwidth of DDR2 (since Dual-Cores are much more bandwidth starved) so much, instead it will probably gain more from the lower latencies of DDR (FX-57 officially supports DDR-500, so expect at least DDR400 2-2-2-5 1T DC for the FX-59, us OC'ers already had this long ago ofc). Unless DDR2 with an integrated mem controller truly will rock the boat ofc.

Moreover, the FX-59 is coming in Q1, and perhaps it is AMD's final try at squeezing out some last money from S939 before moving on to M2, which in turn seems to be coming in Q2. I don't think it's too far-fetched, however, to expect us to see FX-59 for M2 in Q2 or, at least, FX-61 in Q3. FX-61 should be dual-core imo, since at that point lots of multi-threaded games should be out.

My whole fear as well is that the crap will go to the 3800+...This especially seems likely if there is no 4000+ dual core. But if there is a 4000+, that makes it all the more likely there will be a 3400+ and 3600+ (2x1.8ghz, ie 3000+ with 512k/1mb cache).

If those 3800+'s overclock like the 4200-4800's do, you can count me in...I'll just grab some tccd/tcc5, strap it to the prommie and be happy. 10/11x is the sweet spot multi anyway, 11 if you have LL ram and a good chip/cooling, and 10 if you have tccx or whatever and a good chip/cooling. 10 works also if you have some great clocking LL ram. Me, i'll just sell my utt, grab the higher-clocking tccx, save the couple hundred $$$ on buying the next step up to achieve the similar clocks, and be a happy camper.

Yeah, the core clocks don't seem to be going up, which shows that even through the second quarter of next year AMD will prolly still be using the same process SD/venice/x2 are used on, and just changing the pinset and internal instructions. The fact nothing is going past 3ghz for a FX, or 2.6 for a mainstream part is a testament to this. I'm sure eventually M2 will go 65nm and get some great clocking parts, but by the time it matures and gets it's revision, if there even is a 65nm revision on m2, you know the DDR3 socket won't be far away. M2 seems like such a transitional part to me, much like 754 was intended to be. But granted, if AMD could make a socket that lasts longer than a year, that'd be fantastic. Kind of makes me miss socket A, that thing lived forever, and you had a genuine feeling you knew which way tech was going to go and how long it was going to take to mature during it's lifespan...now it's anyone's guess how quickly sockets will change, and new standards will become obsolete.

:D Hehe - FX-59 will stay on socket 939    -

will beginn to save some money tomorrow........ ;)

it seems they are killing single core cpus so maybe they are going to introduce 3800x2 4000x2 to the existing line up 4200x2 4400x2 4600x2 4800x2 and a 5000x2 2.6 512 and 5200 1mb?

this can be possible too 3400 512kb and 3600 1mb and 1.8ghz both

and i think as always firsth batch will OC better than the rest

It would be nice if they didnt change sockets every year. M2 doesnt seem to be as exciting now as i thought it would be. Ill probably grab a x2 and some more memory to hold me off till the socket after m2.

Wow AMD might make it to 3ghz before Intel makes it to 4ghz!
