Heya All,

I'm building a new A64 HTPC rig with a single fan cooling in mind.
All i need from the RAM is to run at 2-2-2-5 with lowest possible voltage and cool as possible, because things will get real hot in cramped HTPC case with very little airflow.

How does the TCCX compare to UTT or new BH-5 in this regard?
What would you recommend for my setup?

Thanks! :toast:

the TCC5/D would run cooler i think....ive never ran my UTT lower than 3.3v so never checked the temperature at a lower voltage.

Both will run pretty cool at around 2,7 Volts. I think TCCx a little bit cooler, but not much.

I've never used UTT, but my bh-5s (mushkin lvl2 black 3500) runs pretty much at ambient at 2.5V while my TCCD (gskill 4800FR) runs mildly warm.

Please don't ask me why I run a gig of bh-5s at 2.5V, I already get enough teasing about that...:P

My VX runs at about 3-4C cooler @3.5v than my TCC5 does at 2.7v.

I have seen tests, where TCCD at 2.8V runs warmer than BH-5 at 3.3V. Take that ;).

Just for the record... I have burned Winbond with 3.8V and as i took them out, they were colder than warm. Fan of 75cfm is that ;).

With 2,8V my 4 Sticks of TCCD getting hot as my old BH5s with 3,4V, both with Heatspreaders.

TCCD gets hot as hell with just a small voltage bump. UTT's run way cooler

UTT is faster when tested with SuperPi but is well known SuperPi likes UTT-s
