Well I am looking for a good PSU. I am on a strict budget I will even be willing to buy and old one off of someone here. I am going to be running a 7800GTX an AMD 64 s939 FX-55 and an ASUS A8N I really dont want to have to re sleeve all the wires because thats a pain so if i could get them pre wired. Like the x connect but eww no. Anyways please PM me for sales or drop a post.

Truepower 2.0 > SmartPower.

Performance is very good, all antec psu's are all quality units anyway. As for dmo580 yes the truepower 2.0 is better but is more expensive.

My TrueControl 510W 1.0 and 550W 2.0 actually have trouble maintaining 12.0 with four or more hard drives. It's disappointing, but that didn't stop me from buying the second one.

For example, MBM this instant reports 11.96V on the 12V line with the TrueControl 2.0 12V pot maxed. The system isn't all that extensive: nForce4, 2x Raptors, 2x SATA Baracudas, 2x GF6800U, 2x512M RAM, an eVGA Tuner, a CDROM, and a A64 3000+.

My TrueControl 1.0 delivered only 11.93V with the 12V pot maxed on an nForce1 Thoroughbred 2400+, 2x512M RAM, 2x WD1200JB, 4x SATA Baracudas, SATA PCI, FireWire PCI, FX 5200 PCI, Ti4600 AGP, CDRW, DVD, and floppy.

Software reading doesn't mean anything, test with a dmm.

If you are not going to run SLI get a Forton AX500-A.

the new TrueControl II 550W has +12V1@19A & +12V@19A.

For the thread starter, the Antec True Power II 550W,
the SmartPower II 500W or the Fortron/Sparkle EPS 550W should be fine.

Good Luck,
Dave :toast:

I agree. If your getting a 7800GTX and FX-55, you'd be an idiot not to get a high quality PSU.

Silverstone Zeus 650w, or a PCP&C Turbo-Cool. Both are very, very nice units.
