View Full Version : Fortron 500W BlueStorm...
So I ordered this from Newegg, but it has 2 12v rails, are they linked so if 1 bogs down the other will help?? I got a very power hungry CPU

but the combined total is more in the +12V@26A range.
This should be fine for your system. :toast:
I dont get it, you mean its 15amps each and it my system sucks up all that (I know it sucks more then 18amps) the other line wont help the load at all? I know good psu's do this, but wasnt sure about this one doing it

yea, but 15a I think is close to what a P4 @ 4ghz and high voltage takes, so I really dont want a huge fluctuation. I kinda worry with hardware now, ive been extremely unlucky with alot of hardware, ive built probly a thousand computers and been xtremely unlucky alot with hardware =P
it will probly be ok, but ya know ive wasted alot on shipping charges in last 3 weeks :p: I read some reviews on this, and alot of ppl say this thing sucks for a Fortron :(

Yeah it'll come close but i dont think it'll draw more than 180w.

Guess we will find out, but I read some reviews where it was drooping bad even on OC'ed Venice :rolleyes:

I think that you will be happy with the fortron. I have had no problems with mine. My rig is on 24/7, and have run prime for over 12 hours monitoring voltages and temps with MBM5. Never have seen any fluctuation in voltages.
mines fluctuating alot, hit like 11.6 something , idles at 11.96-12v, not a whole lot better then my old TT.
Also when I turned off computer to put in new PSU I toasted my OS somehow. I think my room is haunted by dead computer parts and its all trying to mess with all my stuff
mine doesnt have a 12v adjustment pot either like the other bluestorms

RMA it, it shouldn't be fluctuating that much.
no way im so sick of RMAing all the crappy stuff I get. im just going to have to live with it, and my amazing Xabre 200. I dont think anything is wrong with it anyways, ive seen lots of reviews that say Bluestorm suck. I always knew that Fortron was good but geez this new design is a POS, has almost no sinks in the PSU anyways

Remember just hte MHz alone forces him to run at 33% more power. Then you square the voltage ratio!!!
I wuoldn't take any chances here. OCZ Modstream. You can't do it with dual rails. You need a single fat rail.

Measure your rails with a DMM, BIOS/software is useless.
